Severus strode down the winding path toward Hogsmeade, his cloak billowing slightly in the breeze, one hand firmly holding onto his wife, Rosabelle's, while the other gently supported his son, Alaric, who sat contently in his arms. Severus glanced at Rosabelle briefly, a soft warmth flickering in his chest at the sight of her smile. She was as beautiful as ever, her eyes bright with excitement for the day ahead.
It wasn't often that he allowed himself moments of leisure, but today felt different—necessary, even. A rare opportunity to step away from his many responsibilities and simply enjoy the day with his family.
The familiar sights of Hogsmeade's shops and cobblestone streets came into view, bustling with students and villagers alike. Severus glanced down at Alaric, who was curiously reaching toward everything in sight, his tiny fingers trying to grasp at the flurry of movement around them. A soft smile tugged at Severus' lips—something that would surprise anyone who knew him only as the stern Potions Master.
Rosabelle, walking alongside him, chuckled softly. "I think someone's excited to see the village."
Severus hummed in agreement, his gaze shifting from Alaric's curious expressions to Rosabelle's. "He seems more intrigued by the chaos than anything else," Severus replied.
They walked further into the village, the sound of clinking mugs and laughter spilling from The Three Broomsticks. Severus found himself oddly at ease in this setting, despite his usual distaste for crowded places. Perhaps it was the presence of Rosabelle and Alaric that made it bearable, or perhaps, after everything, he needed this break more than he realized.
Alaric squirmed slightly in Severus' arms, his little hands waving toward the window of Honeydukes. Severus raised a brow, glancing down at the child. "Already developing a sweet tooth, are we?"
They made their way to Honeydukes, the familiar sweet scent of chocolate and sugar filling the air as they stepped inside. Severus paused just outside the door, adjusting Alaric in his arms as the boy's wide eyes took in the array of colorful candies. The little boy's fingers wiggled excitedly, reaching out toward the jars of sherbet lemons and licorice wands.
"You'll spoil him, my love," Severus murmured, though his tone was light, betraying the amusement behind his words.
Rosabelle grinned. "It's part of the fun, isn't it?" She reached out to take Alaric's small hand, guiding it toward one of the jars. "See this, Al? Your dad used to steal these for me." She winked at Severus, who merely shook his head in mock disapproval.
"Stealing is a strong word," Severus muttered, though there was a trace of fondness in his voice. "I was merely... assisting your insatiable cravings."
Rosabelle chuckled, leaning her head against his shoulder briefly. "Oh, I remember. We'd sit by the Great Lake, and you'd pretend you weren't enjoying them."
Severus arched a brow, his lips curving into a smirk. " I was only there to keep you from overindulging."
Rosabelle gave him a knowing look, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Sure, darling."

FanfictionSeverus let out a small sigh. "Don't you want a place you can truly call home? Somewhere that's just for us? When we retire, I promise I'll get us a house like that." Rosabelle lifted her head to look at Severus. Their noses were almost touching. "W...
