Felix Cutter, was written in black ink behind one of the old photos grandma gave me while we visited this afternoon.

Today went exactly has I had thought. I felt pressure in my chest with every attempt at a conversations with my grandma or any of the many family members that she invited to dinner. My mind and heart had plummeted at the mention of my dad by my cousin, and till now it still is.

We're back home and the light of the moon is the only light source making the old photo visible to my eyes. Since we arrived back from Jerome I haven't stopped staring at the picture of my dad when he was little and his friend to the side, Felix. I know it's his friend, the back photo said it.

Going back to visit my old home before we moved to the capital made things even harder for me. It reminded me of my birth place, a little town with only a few hundred people and small stores. My home for fourteen years. I can't just let it go to move to Cali this Thursday. I lived in this state my whole life, Idaho is my home. And I don't want to loose the only thing that contains everything I know, my few friends, and my dad's side of family.

But I have to learn to let it go, it's for the best.

----------

I finish up my breakfast alone in the kitchen, mom was called earlier for work. I go retrieve my backpack from the living room and head to the exit . I open the wooden door and see my best friend walking up my drive and jumped in front of me with smile.

''Hey.'' she waved.

''Hey?'' I furrow my eyebrows and shut the door behind me. "What are you doing here?'' I questioned.

''Your mom called my mom saying your mom wasn't taking you to school, so my mom told me to come get you. So bestie lets go boo bear is waiting.'' As she finished her sentence I spotted Alex's car across the street. The windows are rolled down letting the music burst free. He then waved at me.

''Lets go.'' Jocelyn yanked me by the arm and pulls me to the car. I say hi to Alex and take a sit behind my blonde friend.

''We're going to my house straight after school to get ready, okay?'' Jocelyn said, as Alex started the car and drove off.

''For what?'' I asked.

''What do you mean for what? For the dance silly.''

''Oh right, I can't wait. I'm super exited.'' I tried to sound, as cheerful, as she was for this school event. I just hope that Kelly doesn't go.

------

I deeply regret this. My eye make-up, my hair is straighter than it should and my lips are rosy pink. All because of Jocelyn's none stop pleading for her to do any source of make-up on me. I told her I didn't want any thing put on me, but it is my last day here, so why not.

Jocelyn took her time to finish up her make-up which by the way was less noticeable then mine. Nerves filled my veins as the time for Alex to pick us up was getting closer. While I was swiping the accumulated sweat in my palms into my black jeans, Jocelyn twirled around in front her full length mirror, looking for any miner imperfections.

The bell rang, I jumped out of my seat. Jocelyn hurried to the door and greeted her boyfriend. They told each other how great they look when I decided to buzz in and interrupt.

''Yeah, we're all very pretty, can we go and get this over with.'' I see Jocelyn's head shake side ways and laughed.

''Fine lets go.'' She reached for the doorknob and shut the door, and we're off.

''I can't believe you actually got her to put make-up on.'' Alex comments as he finally finds a parking place.

''She basically forced me with her non-stop begging.'' I remark.
