It took a lot of convincing, but after 2 days of my mom telling me no, I finally got her to say yes. This isn't probably the best of ideas, considering the last time Ricky and I saw each other he considered me a gold digger, and I was too much of a coward to look at him in the eye. The current time is four in the morning and faint steps decorate the hallway. I got a text from Jon that he'd be here by 4:30 a.m and I just woke up.
I made sure to check the dress along with the velvet box were nicely packed, before dressing myself and the best attempt I could at such an hour. Slipping into my shoes I make my way downstairs to see my mom pouring two bowls of cereal.
''When will you be back?'' She asks her skirt is just above her knees and her usual heels are now flats.
''I'll be here Wednesday morning, I believe.''
''So did you apply?''
''Yes, now we wait for the response.'' She nodded her head, the twirls of hair bounced against her shoulders. It was quiet for awhile. The moonshine just slowly started to fade as a golden shade started to arose from the window.
Bright headlights shined through the curtains and I knew they were here. Picking up my stuff I head towards my mom. ''Take care okay, call me every night. Also, Audrey, send me pictures I want to see how beautiful you look.'' She whispers in my ear.
''Yeah yeah, see you later mom.'' I give her a slight peck on the cheek before she helped me open the door. Liam popped his head through the window waving his arm to me.
''Take care, and behave, please. Love you!'' She yells the farther I got. I yell back the same before she closes the door getting ready to leave to work herself. Jon jumped out of the back seat and helped me put my small bag in the trunk. I see a strange man on the driver's seat, then the window slides down and Shawn's face comes into view.
''Long time no see. You look ravishing.'' He smiles at me.
''Don't lie to her!'' Liam yells from the back seat.
''I'm going to make you miserable on the plane ride.''I thank Jon and climb in between them. ''Oh and thank you, Shawn, are you coming too?''
Jon closes the door squishing us three while Emery snores in the front seat. '' Nope, just dropping you people off.'' He tells me as he left my driveway. Mentally I say once again a goodbye to my mom before staring at the sunrise that peeks from the horizon.
~.~.~
''You both are children,'' Jon tells Liam and I as we shove each other. ''Audrey I expected more from you.''
''I'm sorry, but once he started to slobber on me I lost it, and he wasn't even asleep!'' I look up to give him a glare.
''And you thought I acted childishly,'' Emery says still eating the crackers they gave out. Every single one of us looked awful. Liam has food stains on his hoodie, Emery has a whole bag shop under his eyes, Jon looks as pale as the marble floor we are walking on, and my clothes look like I stole it my grandma's closet. Yet they walked like it was no big deal and I tried to cover myself behind Liam's huge body.
''What was this guys name again?'' Liam asked his head looking behind him right into my eyes. He furrowed his eyebrows and kept on walking.
''One. Something one.'' Emery says crumbling up the plastic packaging and throwing it away.
''Juan you idiot. Stop saying 'one' it may be offensive.'' Jon gives Emery a quick slap in the back of his neck. I look around at all the people that keep staring at us and Emery yelling out 'Juan' doesn't help.
