Ricky's POV
I can hear the faint mumbled voices of everyone around me, but I can only stare at the piece of paper. A valid scientific proof of what Stephen has told me. These things are said to be 99% accurate. That 1% has tinted this paper. It can't, it shouldn't be right.
A painful shudder of anger boils my veins, as betrayal stings deep at my core. My breathing is weak as it crumbles with every breath. Not only has my mom been lying to me, but also Stephen, a man I trusted. It takes me a while to realize someone yanked the paper out of my hands.
My mom's face comes into view. Her eyes burn with red anguish and steam with pain. I sense her hugging me, only because her hair brushes my cheeks and my chest feels tight. Physically I'm here, but emotionally I have vanished.
Audrey's POV
It has grown quiet, which is strange after the constant yelling that was going on downstairs. We're sitting on Emery's bed waiting for anything to happen.
''I'll give you $50 for the signed football,'' Liam says admiring the glassed case.
''You kidding right? Liam that ball is worth more than your life.'' Emery tells him and Liam shrugs.
''Aren't you guys nervous? It's been pretty quiet.'' They stop glaring at each other and stop to listen.
''You right. I was expecting to hear Ricky throwing a vase by now.'' Emery says walking closer to the door.
''I'm going to go check,'' I tell them getting up.
''Oh, I'm going too!'' Liam chirps and we all start to go down the stairs. I peek down and see everyone huddled.
''Oh, that's cute. It's a group hug.'' Emery smiles next to me but It doesn't look like a hug. Sam raises his head and spots us. His eye grows wide and pulls away from the group.
''We need your help!'' He yells and we sprint down the stairs. The group clears away and Ricky stands here, dead in the face.
''What happened?'' I ask stepping closer to his body.
''I told him I'm his real father,'' Stephen says and we all do a double-take.
''Since when!?'' Liam gasps.
''Since Ricky was born you idiot." Emery nudges Liam on the sides. I stare at Stephen in disbelief. Out of all people it had to be him. The guys looked up to him as a father figure, but now he's literally Ricky's father.
Tossing all that aside I walk around to face Ricky. His eyes were on the floor tearing up as his skin grew goosebumps.
''This is all my fault.'' I hear Ricky's mom cry behind me. All I care about right now is stopping his body from shaking, and chest from thumping so rapidly I was scared he would get a heart attack.
''Ricky can you hear me?'' I asked lowering my head to meet his gaze. Tears rolled down his cheeks and fell to the floor. I try to move him so he can sit but his body is so stiff. I turn to look at the guys to find Sam's face glowing red, restraining himself.
''I think he's in some type of shock,'' I tell them.
''What does that mean?''
''How do we fix him?''
They say all at once and I shrug. I'm lost.
"Ricky sweety please talk to me.'' His mom cried walking closer to him. I raise my hands and stop her.
''I think it'd be best for both of you to leave,'' I say eyeing the real parents.
''The hell you talking about! I can't leave my son like that!'' She cries trying to push past me but Stephen gets ahold of her and pushes her back.
