Audrey's POV

''So are you going to start recording!" Jos pulls at my arm as we walk up the Climax Building. Surprisingly for the last couple of days since I've been coming here, there has been no sign of Ricky. Most of the time is just Emery and Jos in the room with me and Liam dropping by occasionally just to annoy me.

"Emery said it should be soon." We wave at the security guard at the door. I keep my eyes peeled just in case I catch a glimpse of him. Waiting for the elevator I hum the beat of the song I've been working on. Margo's song was released early this year and she's been getting a lot of recognition.

Our steps echo as we walk down the hall to the designated room. Jos cuddles into the sandwich Emery had ordered before we left work.

''A foot long for my foot long!'' Jos bounces inside the room and I turn to look at her. Liam coughed and I held in my breath. Emery didn't seem bothered by what she said.

She ran to him handing him the bag. He perks up the moment she walks in. I used to think Alex and Jos were sugary but Emery and Jos are a whole cavity.

"So you wanna start recording today?" Emery stops squeezings Jocelyn's cheeks and looks in my direction.

"You think it's ready?" I ask eyeballing the sheet of music.

"Question, do you think it's ready?" Liam raises his eyebrow at me. "Emery played the chorus and it sounded pretty dope."

"I think it's as finished as it'll ever be." I pull at my fingers nervous that it won't turn out as I played it in my head.

"Awesome I'll get music peeps on board and I'll let you know when we can start the whole thing."

"Thank you!" I jump in the spot. The process is actually rolling.

We stick around for a while showing Jos and Liam how the full song would sound. Emery played the piano beautifully. By the time it gets dark we decide the head back home.

"I really thought we'd see Ricky at least once today..." Jos sighs as we head to the exit. A security guard is a different man now. He sips on his coffee as he gets comfortable in his chair.

"Same. The guys must've told him we would come. Warned him in case he didn't want to bump into me." I shrug reaching for the main door.

"I'm so confused on why he's avoiding you yet commented on your picture."

"Hiding behind a screen is easier than face to face." I pull on the door and let Jos go first. The stars have started to sprinkle in the sky by now.

"Facts," Jos says and looking for our car. The breeze humidity seems to have gotten worse as the day dragged along.

We see a shadow snuggle out of a car and reach for something in the back seat. The ruffling of bags creaks through the air. The shadow slams the door shut followed by a beep signaling the car has been locked.

The moment the shadow steps into the light I quickly recognized the raven black hair. She seems to spot us simultaneously. Her legs stop and the grip on the bag tightens.

"Blonded suited you more but not too bad." She remarks creeping slower.

"What are you doing here?" I asked dismissing her passing aggressive comment.

"I could be asking you the same. You dropped Ricky so I'm a little lost on why you could possibly be here." Peyton turns to look at Jos giving a smile.

"It's really none of your business what I'm doing here," I say bravery sparking out of nowhere. Turning to look at Jos I asked her to wait in the car.
