"He finally asked me!" Jocelyn cheered clapping her hands and squealing making every table near us in the lunch room stare. "I thought I would have to," she rolled her eyes exited over the fact that Alex asked her to homecoming her boyfriends of a few weeks. It's our first year in high school meaning were Freshman, the little fish.

"Are you going Audrey?" She questioned me as I took a sip of the chocolate milk carton. I shrugged instead of giving her a word response.

"You have to go. It's homecoming, our first homecoming!"

Taking out my binder out my backpack I blow my hair out of my face. "I don't know. I would feel like a third wheel if I went with you and Alex, and I doubt anyone will ask me." Okay to tell you the truth I have been asked by some random guy in my Biology table, but I said no.

"C'mon I'm sure you can get a date. How about Phillip he'd always had a thing for you?" She raised her thin brows and popped her lips making a kissing sound, I rolled my eyes.

I stare at her for a second, "Jos, Phillip is not in this school. He moved."

"Really? Oh, that's why I haven't seen him. How about your brothers friends their pretty cute." She raised her brows once again and gave me a wink.

"And their like way older than me. Plus my brothers friends are jerks." I say getting up followed by Jocelyn to throw our stuff away. My brother Andres is a Senior here, I don't know why. He has all his credits to graduate early I don't know why he wanted to stay another year.

"Well you have to come. I'll ask my cousin Oscar if he'll take you." she suggested.

I quickly shake my head to the side. "No, no, no thank you." I 'd would much prefer to go alone than with Oscar. He's a year older than me and a creep! Every time I would see him he would always try to smell my hair and every time he did I smacked him. Once I felt his breath my neck, sending me shivers.

"You're coming end of story." Jocelyn persistent and I just told her I would. Even if I go alone third wheel and all; that's what she wants if me coming.

Lunch continued with her telling me every detail, of how she got asked out, and admiring the cheesy poster she had received until the bell finally rang and l left her. The day went one with the homework pilling up on me taking away my personal time. When the day was over I headed outside to meet my brother who was already there talking to his girlfriend. Once they saw me coming they kissed goodbye she waved at me before walking away.

"Hey Banana, how was school?" He asked using the nickname he gave me after a stage where I constantly ate them and squeezed me too tightly. He grinned while opening the car door letting me in.

"I told you to not call me that." I say once he sits down and buckle up. He turned on the car letting it to life before he turned to me.

''I can't banana just stop, it's part of you know. And buckle up it's the law.'' I rolled my eyes as he laughed at my annoyance at the name. ''But really how was school, banana?'' he slowly made his way out the lot following the long line of cars ahead of us. After throwing my bag to the back seats I buckle up, don't want to 'break the law.'

''It went fine, but now I have to go to homecoming.'' I play with my school I.D trying to scrath the 8th grade picture of me.
