Ricky's POV

''You're doing what? The hell is wrong with you!'' I was so damn aggravated right now. I walked into my house worried sick and now I'm boiling with anger.

''It's my life and I decide what to do with it.'' Jon answers, of course staying calm. I could feel every nerve in my body start to twitch at how ridiculous he sounded.

''Did you think this through?'' Emery was the opposite of me. His breathing was heavy, not because he was angry at Jon, but almost because he was scared.

''Of course, he fucking didn't. Jon, drop the joke it's not funny.'' I say and he rolled his eyes.

''Guys, I'm serious. I'm quitting,'' The words lefts his mouth like water, smooth and shallow. ''I think it's for the better.''

''You? or Nyla? C'mon Jon ever since she came back you changed.'' I tell him knowing damn well he would've never proposed this if she wasn't around.

''I haven't changed. You guys don't accept my relationship with her and I can't live without her.''

''You were doing pretty okay these past few years without her.'' Emery blurts out.

''No, I was missing her the whole time. Guys, you know this? Losing her was the biggest mistake of my life-''

''Oh please stop with all the sappy junk. She's twisting your mind, Jon can't you see it. Open your damn eyes, you have them for a reason.'' I grunt holding back the yells inside of me.

''Ricky how'd you feel if you lost Audrey. Wouldn't you try everything to be with her again?''

I squint my eyes at him in disbelief. ''I have lost her but at least I acknowledge my stupidity. Why can't you acknowledge yours? Plus Audrey and I aren't toxic for each other like you people.'' I point at him.

''Looks who's being all sappy now-''

Emery interrupts, ''You're both sappy, okay. Now can we focus back on the major problem here? Jon if you leave you'll affect everyone.''

''Not just that, but you signed a contract-''

''I already arranged all that with Mrs. Alndon. She wasn't happy but after negotiating I signed a paper that says as of tomorrow, I'm officially no longer a member of Forever In Your Mind.'' His eyes were cold with no guilt behind them.

''You went and did that without even consulting us first? The fuck man.'' I clench my teeth. Not going to lie, I was hoping we would be able to change his mind.

''So that's it? After years of hard work, you're throwing it away so you could be with a girl?'' Emery's voice drifted away as his shoulder collapse and his eyes fell.

"I'm not throwing it away. Music is still going to be part of my life, but no longer in a band. I'm sorry, but I was hoping you would respect my decision.''

''I would have respected your choice if the reasoning was different. Had you told you wanted to leave because you hated one of us, or you didn't like the music, or the managing was bad, I would've respected you. But for you to leave us because we don't agree with you dating a girl, I just can't.''

At that moment he gets up and pats his jeans down, ''Then I have nothing else to do here.'' He gives us an awkward smile and starts to walk away.

''Jon, good luck!'' I hear Emery exclaim and Jon stops.

''Thank you, you too.'' He smiles at Emery then he turns to face me. He waits for me to open my mouth but my tongue is dry. Once he sees I'm not saying anything he walks upstairs.
