Audrey's POV
After 3 hours of being out of the house the door flings open and Jos returns, ''Guess who got us jobs at Subs!'' She runs to me waving around a purple apron.
''At Subway?'' I ask getting hold of the harsh texture of the apron.
''No, Subs.''
''Subway? Jobs at Subway?''
She shakes her head, "It's like Subway but better! The pay is higher but with fewer people! So we won't deal with many stupid customers!''
''I thought you really wanted to work with Emery?''
''Yea but I know you wouldn't feel comfortable there. I also don't want to make coffee for people.''
''But you want to make sandwiches?'' I raise my eyebrow.
''With you, yes, and we start training tomorrow!"
Jos is going to be spending the summer with us. She used the excuse of getting to know her future home for convincing her parents. She's been at Emery's house a couple of times since she got here, while I wait for her to get back.
Ricky hasn't tried to reach me since that day and I'm taking his silence as a painful goodbye. If that is what he wants, so be it.
''Vanessa and Parker are picking us up later, so if you want to start your 6-hour long process of getting ready, now is a good time.'' I hang the apron on the chair and stop her from laying on the bed. Her eyes run across every inch of my room. She sprints to her suitcase and starts to rummage.
Clothes start to fly landing on my floors, dressers, and chairs. ''I don't think I packed a swimsuit! You have any I can borrow?'' She bites her lips finally giving up on her wrinkled clothes.
''Yeah I got you,'' I tell her walking to my dresser. I throw her pants back to her and start looking for one.
~.~
We kept on asking if she was remotely tired but she just kept going. I saw Vanessa sweat for the first time since I met her. She kept nudging Parker away every time he leaned on her complaining he was tired.
"Where does she get all this energy?'' Vanessa waves her hand in front of her glossy face.
"I bet she's looking for celebrities. Hey Jos, I don't think you'll find anyone important here!'' I call out to her since she's a good 5 feet ahead of us. I'm not even sure she heard since her face kept flicking back in forth between buildings.
"That's not true. I met these Youtubers once.'' Parker chimes in blowing air with his mouth up to his hair.
''We're talking about legit people." Vane rolled her eyes and wiped her nose. "Hey Jossy if you keep walking you'll hit venice beach!''
She turns to look at us with her mouth wide open. ''Ah the beach is up ahead? Let's go!''
"Jos we've been walking since In-N-Out, aren't you tired?'' I ask realizing just how many blocks we've walked. When she said she wanted to take a stroll I didn't think she meant this.
''I want to reach Monica pier, let's go before it gets dark.'' She mentions to us but we stop our tracks.
''Hell no girl, you know just how far that is? Now if we want to actually go to the beach we need to go back to the car. Get in and drive there like normal lazy people. Who do you think we are? My legs have never walked this far and I am fu-''
"Okay I think we get the point. Jos lets walk back while we can. Well spend more time at the beach.'' I tell her and she shurgs.
''Sorry I just got excited. Boise is nothing like this place.'' She squeals walking back to us.
