Audrey's POV
This wasn't going as well as I had hoped. So much for asking for quality time with Ricky if a fangirl came up to us every few minutes. We have been in the pier for a good 2 hours now and most of it was spent me tolerating how girls flirted with him.
After the last girl had left and before anyone else showed up I pulled him to the side. ''Look Audrey she gave me her milkshake! You want some?'' He asks after taking a sip of the cup.
''Maybe in a bit, hey can we go? It's getting annoying that everyone is spending time with you but me.'' I tell him and he smiles. He wraps his arm around my shoulder and pulls me to him.
''Yeah let's go, but are you sure you don't want some now?'' He teases me with the straw around my mouth. I reach for the cup and take a good sip of the strawberry flavored drink. ''Lets make a run for it before I get spotted again!'' He tells me and we start running down the pier to the lot.
''Now we can go to where you almost died,'' I say pulling out of the parking and back to the streets.
''Question, why are we going there?''
''I don't know I guess I just want to go there during daylight and spent time with you now that you actually want to hang around me...'' I say.
''What do you mean?''
''I feel like I was just a pest to you when we first went there.'' It was during Shawn's party and Ricky and I's contract just started. He was basically forced to be seen with me in public.
''That's not exactly true. During that time I was okay with being around you. Of course, I would have preferred to stay home, but you were a decent alternative.'' He chuckles and I give him a glance.
''Wow, thanks. It makes me feel so much better.''
''Did you like me then?'' He asks.
I tap my foot on the flooring getting nervous about me answer, "I sort of liked you way before that. When did you start liking me?''
The light became red and I turned to look at him. He leaned back and crossed his arms, ''I can't think of an exact time or place where it all started. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.''
''Wow, that was poetic. What book did you steal that from?'' I laughed staring into his eyes.
He winked and shrugged a shoulder, ''Can't you just believe it came from me?''
"Yes but either you're crazy good at coming up with those things at the moment or you stole it from somewhere.''
''Well it was all me, but don't google it.''
"Right.'' I smile.
His hair was all tousled and his freckles were dark when hit by the sunlight. He looked so beautiful and it hurts to know there was a time when he didn't think so. As much as I hated Jocelyn for exposing me to this band I'm grateful that all that lead to this, to him.
I heard a honk and my whole body jumped at the pitch of the sound. The light was green and cars were passing me by, I stepped on the gas and left.
''So are we going to walk around and build a sandcastle or what?'' He asks.
''Well I brought us some food and I'm determined to go swimming.'' From the corner of my eye, I see him raise his eyebrow.
''And I'll be admiring the view.''
''Oh no, you'll be coming in with me. You gave me the courage to actually wear that pair of string people call bikini.''
''You know I don't mind you wearing the big oversized shirt. What Liam said was stupid, I think you look stunning with what you feel comfortable in.''
