Audrey's POV

We sit in the living staring at the dark screen of my phone. Jocelyn's hand is starting to grow hot and sweaty but neither of us let go. Mom returns from the bathroom and goes back to staring at the phone.

They should be making the public announcement soon. Stephen emailed me yesterday a copy but I haven't heard it. He said that Climax would be announcing it on their socials at 12 pm.

"One more minute so we can move on with our lives," Andi comments messaging his neck.

"Don't act like you're excited for your sister, Andi." Dad nudges him giving me a thumbs up.

The screen starts to buzz and light up then Jocelyn's phone followed along. It's out.

As I pick up my phone I fear to drop it from all the shaking cursing through my body. My family peaks over my phone and Jocelyn's as we open up the notification.

I go to Twitter and she goes to Instagram. It's the same information and photo and same link.

"Open it! I wanna hear." Andi jumps over and starts picking at my phone. Our fingers are battling on my screen trying to press the link.

Before we realize the familiar music starts to play on the tv. Jos started sharing it while Andi and I wrestled.

As we hear the song I see my parents' faces change as they pay attention to the lyrics.

The whole song revolved around losing everything valuable and in the processing losing myself. It was mainly about my family but there's little hint that Ricky can understand.

My mom's scent surrounds me as her arms wrap around me. I couldn't tell if her voice cracked at the idea I released a song or that the song was about her.

The song replayed and echoed through every creek in our house until my parents memorized half the lyrics.

"Let's go and celebrate! Where ever you want." Dad pats my back leaning over me to get the keys.

"Well, there's this Italian place I saw since we first moved here..."

"I don't like Itali-"

"That'll do!" Mom nudges Andi on the side and signals for everyone to get up and ready. I kiss the screen of my phone before pausing the video.

As we waited for our meals Jos was looking through my phone. Liking and responding to the comments about my song. She sips on the water with a side smirk on her face as she taps at the screen.

Her eyes bulge out and water drips down her mouth the moment to scoots closer to me. Prompting my phone in front of my face she points at the top DMs.

I pulled the phone away since it was basically kissing my nose. Once my eyes focus I read Ricky's, Keta's, and Margo's messages. My mouth drops and I take my phone back.

Margo.h: I take back all the times I thought you sucked •_• the song is actually pretty sick!

Ketamusic: I just wanted to say this is truly 👏 keep up the good work Audrey 🥳

The fact they all messaged me was a surprise on its own, let alone all the positive energy. Ricky even referenced a line from the song! I reply a thank you to all of them just when the food was arriving. Jos raised her eyebrow awaiting gossip.
