031. COUNTLESS OBSTACLES

Chapter thirty one

"Countless obstacles."

It was the next day, as they had stopped by a creak, Tyreese was down by it, while Katniss, Daryl, Michonne and Bob stood up on the bridge as they looked at a map "this is where the creaks at, so barnsville must be a few miles downstream." Michonne shared "sounds like are best chance at finding a new ride." Bob told them "then let's get going." Katniss told them, looking to Tyreese so did everyone else "yo, Ty." Daryl said, folding up the map, Tyreese looked up at them "come on, let's go. Vamonos." Daryl told him, as Tyreese looked down, Katniss, Daryl and Michonne began walking off.

Where soon Bob and Tyreese caught up with them, as the five of them were walking down a dirt path, Daryl bent down grabbing something off the ground, he licked his fingers and touched it again "is that jasper?" Michonne asked "mm-hmm." Daryl said "it's a good color. Brings out your eyes." Michonne told him, as her and Katniss laughed "when miss Richards when into A block, we were leaving. Asked me to keep a look out. I'm gonna use it for her old man's marker." Daryl shared "you know all of them back there?" Michonne asked "you stay in one place more than a couple hours, you'd be surprised what you pick up." Daryl shared, walking off, Katniss and Michonne followed after him along with Bob and Tyreese.

They soon found the road again and as they walked along it, they came across a gas station, as Daryl then stopped looking through the overgrown tree's "you see something?" Bob asked him "I don't know. Maybe." Daryl said, stepping towards it, they started pulling the branches off of it and as they did, they found a van underneath it, as Daryl whistled, Katniss walked over, climbing through the small space between the wall and the car, Daryl opened the door as Katniss climbed inside of it, she used her knife and opened up the ignition, grabbing the wires, she tried to hot wire it but she couldn't "the batteries dead!" she voiced.

"Damn it." Daryl said, as Katniss climbed out of the car "we need to find us a new battery." Daryl told the others as he slammed the door shut, Katniss moved toward's the window and as she did, a walker slammed it's hands against it as Daryl pulled her back "got some friends inside." he informed them, as he turned around "come on." he told the others, as they all walked to the building which was also over grown with tree's "let's clear a path. See how many we got." Daryl told them, as he grabbed one of the branches, Katniss helped pull it down.

Where Michonne was using her katana to chop them slowly, Bob did the same thing with his machete while Tyreese began hacking at it "man, go easy. We don't know what we're dealing with." Daryl shared, as Tyreese's weapon then got stuck on something, he began pulling as they all looked at him "step back." Daryl told Katniss, as Katniss did so Tyreese got his weapon free, a wire of some kind was around it, as Katniss heard a growl, she turned seeing the walker grab Daryl, her eyes went wide, as Michonne swung her katana chopping it's arm off.

One of them then came out of the tree's grabbing Bob, Tyreese then reached in looking for one, Daryl stabbed the one that grabbed him in the head, Michonne then chopped the one that was holding onto Bob's head off, as Tyreese grabbed onto one "Tyreese!" Bob voiced "Ty!" Daryl voiced "let it go!" Michonne voiced, but Tyreese didn't listen pulling the walker all the way out, he fell back with it on top of him, where Daryl then grabbed it off of him, as Katniss leaned down stabbing it in the head, Bob then helped Tyreese up "why the hell didn't you let go?" Michonne asked him but Tyreese didn't say anything.

Daryl and Bob then headed into the gas station, while Michonne and Tyreese worked on getting the car free, Katniss was standing watch making sure no walkers snuck up on them, where once they got the car clean, Michonne came walking over to Katniss "Carl's still gonna be there when we get back." she told her, as Katniss shook her head "you don't know that. I'm not just talking about the sickness. Those walkers on the fence, they're pushing through and when they get through. And they will. They're gonna have to run. It always happens. We'll just be lucky enough if it does that we all find each other again." she shared, as Daryl then whistled, she turned around walking to the van, Michonne and Tyreese followed her, as they grabbed the stuff from the gas station, they all got in, as Bob drove off.
