024. AN EXPEDITION FOR MORE WEAPONS

Chapter twenty four

"An expedition for more weapons."

The next morning, Rick had gotten Katniss, Carl and Michonne and told them they were going for a run, as they all piled in the car, they began heading down the road and continued on not stopping anywhere close, as they came across a man with an orange backpack on the side of the road "hey! Slow down! Slow down!" he voiced, as they flew past him "slow..I'm begging you!" the man voiced, as he continued running after the car "please!" he voiced, Katniss and Carl looked back, watching as the man fell down.

They then looked back at the front, as they continued driving, they soon came across a crash, where there two cars on right side of the road and one flipped over on the grass to the left, as they drove between them, the car soon began slow down, where right by the fallen car to their left where their was a walker still alive underneath it, the tires of the car could be heard spinning, where they all looked at Michonne who had been driving, she soon stopped spinning the wheels and as she did, walkers slammed their hands on both sides of the car, trapping them in.

Rick looked to the back "cover you ears." he said, as Carl and Katniss put their hands over their ears so did Michonne, as Rick rolled the window down a little bit, he stuck his gun through it and shot the walker right next to it.

Where when they all were killed, Katniss and Carl were leaning against the car on the road, as Michonne stood next to them, Rick was rummaging through the cars belongings as he found a blanket "this'll work." he told them, as he folded it up, he began walking toward's their car, as Michonne, Carl and Katniss followed after him "tell me when." Michonne said, getting into the drivers seat, Katniss and Carl were watching her "hey." Rick said, as Katniss and Carl walked over "put something under the car, like this, with a little gravel and sticks." Rick shared, as the three crouched down.

"Gives you traction." Rick told them, collecting some sticks "wouldn't have to do it if she didn't get us stuck." Carl shared "it's an honest mistake." Rick said, as he stood up walking back to their car, Katniss and Carl followed him, as they crouched down "why is she even here?" Katniss asked "she took you to woodbury, you said she just split on you. And Oscar died and you guys.." Carl shared "it wasn't that simple. I asked her to come today. I didn't want to leave at the prison if I wasn't there, not with Merle. That and we got common interests." Rick shared, putting the stuff underneath the tire.

Katniss raised her brows, looking at Carl, Rick looked up at them, he hit Katniss in the arm "not in the way your thinking." he told her, as Katniss looked back at him "I didn't say anything." she told him "your face did. And for right now, we have the same problems. So maybe we can work on them together." Rick shared "just for right now?" Carl asked "yeah, just for right now." Rick told them "hey!" that man from before voiced, as they looked seeing the man running down the road "help me!" he voiced "you think he really needs help?" Katniss asked, as the three of them stood up.

"Let's not stick around to find out." Rick shared, as he banged on the car, Michonne drove it forward, getting it out of the mud, the three of them then got back in the car, as they began driving off.

As they headed into town, they soon stopped the car just as they entered, as they got out of the car and began walking, they headed into a police station, and into the back, where the cage seemed to be completely cleaned out, Rick sighed, walking inside the cage, he kicked the wall, as Katniss and Carl hung back, Michonne walked forward, picking the bullet up off the ground "you got any other police stations in town?" she asked "I was the police here. Me and a few others guys. It ain't a big town." Rick told her, as Katniss began to realize where they were as she looked to Carl.
