050. STAY WITH ME

Chapter fifty

"Stay with me." 

Since then Katniss had been doing nothing but sitting on her bed with her legs pulled into her chest, where once in a while she would hear Carol come by and the only reason she knew it was her was because she would try to talk to her all nicely and tell her that she brought her some food and then she'd wait for Katniss to open the door but she never did, where she would just leave the food outside the door and walk off but whenever she'd come back, she'd find it still there, meaning Katniss wasn't eating anything.

Where Katniss was sleeping in her bed, but as she did, she heard the sound of a person's feet hit the floor and as she did, she opened her eyes, hearing the person's footprints creek against the floor, she knew they were getting closer to her, she sat up and as she did, the man swung his knife at her as she brought her arms up blocking her face, he cut into her arms "ah!" Katniss voiced, as the man swung the knife again, cutting in her arms, Katniss kicked her foot into his chest, sending him into the wall, the knife fell to the floor and as it did, she got off the bed and went for the knife and as she reached down for it, the man grabbed her by the legs, pulling her to the ground.

Katniss slammed her head into the floor, as she winced, the man flipped her over and climbed on top of her, and as he did, Carl had heard her screaming, as he went to her bedroom door, trying to open it was locked, as he knocked on the door "Katniss!" he voiced, slamming into the door trying to break it open, he couldn't, as he walked off, Katniss couldn't hear him, only her heartbeat in her ears, as she found it hard to breathe with this man on top of her, the claimer and Gareth all flashed through her mind, as she reached her hand behind her, she felt the knife, as she grabbed it, she brought it up and stabbed the man in the neck, as he began choking on his own blood.

Katniss pulled the knife out and rolled him off of her, as she then stabbed him in the chest, once, twice, three times, she pulled the knife out, as she pushed herself onto her feet, she winced, as blood was dripping from her arms, she moved toward's the open window, climbing out of it, she turned closing it shut, as she then turned, moving toward's the edge of the roof, she looked down and pushed herself off, landing down on her own two feet, she began running off.

And as she did, Carl had found a fire poker downstairs and put it in between the door and forced it open, and as it did, he saw blood on the bed and on the floor along with a pair of boots and as he stepped in, he saw it was a man, and that a trail of blood lead all the way toward's the window which was closed, which meant she got away, as he went over to the man, he aimed his gun at his head and shot him, before turning and walking out of there.

The smell of smoke filled the air, along with people's screams, as Katniss saw a man with a stick stab a man through the chest, she ran up behind him before he could pull it out and slit his throat, as both their bodies fell to the ground, Katniss crouched down and stabbed them both in the head, before running off, she saw a man dragging one of the alexandrian's on a chain and nearby was one stabbing an already dead man, as she ran toward's him, she slit his throat, and as his body fell to the ground she stabbed him and the dead guy in the head.

But as she did "ah!" someone voiced, as Katniss rolled out of the way an axe came down on the two dead guy's, as her eyes went wide, she looked up seeing a man with long hair and blood all over his face, he pulled the axe out and swung it at her again, she rolled out of the way and as she did, he almost got her leg, as she got up, the man swung it at her head, as she dodged it, she lunged toward's him and stabbed him in the chest, one, twice, three times, as his body fell to the ground, she fell with him, as she was breathing heavy, she pulled out her knife and stabbed him in the head with it, as she looked to her left at the axe and pulled it out of his cold dead hand as she stood up, she saw Ron running, and as she did, she ran after him.

Where it seemed she was faster then him, cause she caught up with him, as she grabbed his arm, he screamed, as he turned looking at her, he saw all the blood on her, as his eyes went wide, Katniss noticed the man standing behind him "run. Run!" she voiced, shoving Ron out of the way, the man ran toward's her and as he did, Katniss swung the axe but he ducked down cutting her in the leg "ah!" Katniss voiced, falling to the ground, the man climbed on top of her going to stab her, Katniss brought her hand up and when she did, he stabbed her through the hand "ah!" she screamed, as Ron ran over, shoving the man off of her, the knife ripped out of her hand, as she screamed again.

Ron helped her up off the ground, as Katniss shoved him ahead of her, the two began running off as the man got up and ran after them, Katniss couldn't run anymore as she fell over, she turned looking behind her at the man running toward's her, a gunshot then went off, as he fell to the ground in front of her, screaming in pain, Carl came walking up behind her "please, man. Please don't kill me, man. Please." the man begged, as Carl shot him, he put the gun around him, as he crouched down to Katniss, putting his arms around her, Katniss flinched "it's me. It's me." Carl whispered in her ear, and when he did, Katniss brought her hands up, holding onto him, Ron looked at them and ran off.

"Guys, come on!" Enid voiced, and as she did, Carl helped Katniss stand up, but when he did, Katniss fell back down, Carl quickly caught her before she could hit the ground "I got you." he told her, as he turned walking to the house, he headed up the steps and inside, as Enid closed the door behind them "she need's to go to the infirmary." she shared, following him "she'll bleed out before we get there." Carl shared, walking into the bathroom, he put Katniss down in the tub and as he did, he turned the shower on, while Enid began looking through the drawers.

Carl climbed in the tub, sitting down, he pulled Katniss in his arms and as he did, the blood began washing off of her "Katniss." he whispered to her, as Katniss opened her eyes, feeling the cold water on her, Enid came over, holding a needle and thread, Carl took it from her "I got it. You can go." he told her "Carl.." Enid told him "go." Carl told her, as Enid stood up, she put the bandages down on the counter, as she walked out of the bathroom, Carl grabbed Katniss's left hand and noticed she had been stabbed through it "it's okay." Katniss whispered to him "no, no, I'm gonna save you." Carl told her, and when he did, Katniss's eyes began to close "no, Katniss! Katniss, stay with me!" Carl voiced, as he started crying.

Having stitched her up, Katniss was lying on his bed with dry clothes on, as she had bandages around her arms, one around her left hand and one on her ankle, where when Carl had changed his clothes, the alarm went off downstairs as he had gone and took Carol's food out of the oven, he had walked back upstairs and as he headed into the room, he climbed onto the bed, kissing her on the forehead, he lied down next to her, putting his arm around her, because he was gonna wait there as long as he had to until she woke up.
