064. ON THE RUN

Chapter sixty four

"On the run."

Having gone to the outpost that was close to the road, Katniss and Hunter hid in the bushes, seeing no workers outside, the two moved forward, where Hunter grabbed one of the boxes and opened it up, Katniss crouched down, opening the bag, she grabbed some of the explosives and put them in the box, as Hunter closed it up, Katniss then cut into her hand with the knife and began drawing the mockingjay symbol on top of the box in blood, knowing those who were a part of the revolution would find them and use them when it was time, Hunter picked the box back up and moved it somewhere safe, while Katniss zipped up the bag, the two then turned running off.

The two had then gone to five other outposts, finding a box, putting the explosives into it and leaving it with the mockingjay symbol on it, but when night fell, the two had stopped and made camp, where Katniss had found a snake slithering in the grass and killed it, cooking it for her and Hunter to eat, where she then snuffed out the fire so nobody could see them, and as she leaned against a tree, she looked to her left, seeing Hunter sleeping on the floor, she then grabbed her riffle and stood up, keeping watch all night and into the morning, where Katniss woke Hunter up, and the two headed off once more, going to more and more outposts.

And then another night came, where Katniss found a few squirrels for them to eat, and snuffed out the fire once again and then stood up keeping watch all night long, before waking up Hunter again, and heading off to even more outposts.

Meanwhile, those at alexandria had finally decided to fight, having gone to hilltop to see Maggie and Sasha, they also happened to run into Jesus who had helped Daryl escape, but Gregory the leader of the hilltop didn't agree to go against the saviors but the people who lived there did, but they knew they had to get back home before the saviors came looking for Daryl but since Jesus had taken one of their walkies, they didn't have to, where instead they had ventured off to the kingdom to see if they'd help them fight, but the leader Ezekiel didn't want to, where the only thing that came out of that trip was Daryl getting to stay there.

And as they were leaving and driving down the road, Negan's voice came through the walkie  "for anyone out there who loved the obese bastard as much as I did, I just wanted to say few words. Fat Joey wasn't the most badass son of a bitch, but he was loyal, he had a great sense of humor. In fact we were just joking about oral sex with Lucille the other day. Things will not be the same now that he's dead. Without fat Joey? Skinny Joey is just" he said, sighing "Joey. So it's a god damn tragedy. So, let's have a moment of silence." he shared, as there were a bunch of cars in front of them, Rick stopped the car "someone's trying to block the way. Gotta be the saviors." Jesus shared.

"Look. I think that's their base over there." Carl shared, looking to the right "yeah, that's it. Must be trying to make it hard to get to em." Jesus shared "we gotta keep going. We'll move em, then we'll move them back. They don't need to know we were here." Rick shared, turning off the car, they all got out to move the cars.

But as they were doing so, Michonne was looking with the binocular's and noticed the wire set up "Rick." she said, turning to the left "come take a look at this." she told him, as Rick took the binoculars, he looked over at it.

They all then walked over looking at it "what's all this for?" Michonne asked "wait. When I was hiding in the back of the truck I heard a couple of them talking about this. This is for a herd." Carl shared "that's why it's a steel cable. It's not just for one walker." Rosita shared, looking at the grate that was left open "there must've been explosives attached to it but whoever got here before us disarmed it." she shared "we got ourselves a red situation. I need a search party. See if Daryl ran home like the dumb animal he is. And I also need a man hunt because I came back to find a goddamn revolution thanks to Katniss." Negan told them through the walkie.

"On it. Be there in time for lunch." Simon said through the walkie "what do we do when we find her?" one of the saviors then asked "kill her." Negan told them, as the walkie went silent, Rosita smirked "she took the explosives."  she told them "and she left the cars incase the herd was needed. Let's move em back and get out of here." Rick told them, as they all ran back toward's the car, getting in, they drove back to the others and began moving them back in place.

Meanwhile, far out in the woods, Katniss and Hunter had just left another outpost "they're gonna catch up soon. They always do." Hunter told her "yeah, I'm planning on it." Katniss told him, as the sound of a twig snapping could be heard, Katniss stopped and as she did, so did Hunter, more footsteps could be heard, as Katniss's eyes went wide, she turned, moving Hunter in front of her, the two began running through the woods, and as they did the sound of gunfire could be heard behind them, as the bullets hit the trees they ran past, Katniss turned around, shooting one of them, she turned around and kept running, a fallen tree came in front of them, the two jumped over it, as Katniss turned shooting two of them, she then turned around, as her and Hunter continued running.
