014. THIS ISN'T A DEMOCRACY ANYMORE

Chapter fourteen

"This isn't a democracy anymore."

Carl, Katniss and Rick were then walking back to the house "you two bit too?" Carl asked "no." Rick told him "Shane was." Carl said "that wasn't Shane. You know that." Rick told him "used to be." Carl said, as he turned looking at Katniss "what happened? Were you guys attacked? I mean, I..I heard a gunshot, but I didn't see any walkers nearby. How did Shane die?" Carl asked, as the three stopped walking, before anyone could say anything, the sound of walkers growling filled their ears, as they all looked around them seeing all of them "oh my god." Rick said, turning back and picking up Katniss "go, go, go." he said, as Carl began running, Rick followed after him.

They then stopped by a tree near the barn "we..we gotta get to the house, tell the others." Carl whispered "not through all of them." Katniss whispered "can't go around. Carl, stay close. Go!" Rick voiced, as Carl began running again, Rick followed after him holding Katniss, they headed to the barn, as Carl ran in, Rick put Katniss down as she followed him inside, Rick closed the door behind them, just as the walkers made it to it and began banging on it, Katniss and Carl held is shut while Rick found a metal pole putting it in the door handles to hold it shut.

Rick then put his arms around both of them moving them further in, Katniss was standing by the later while Rick and Carl poured the gasoline from the can's along the floor until the canister's were empty, where they then dropped them and ran toward's the ladder "okay. Up there. Hurry." Rick told them "what about you?" Carl asked "I'll be right there." Rick told them, as he held the lighter out to Katniss "drop the lighter when I say. We'll stop some of them from reaching the house and distract the others, so at least we'll have a chance." he shared, as Katniss took the lighter "you two can do this." Rick told them.

As Katniss turned climbing up the ladder, Carl went to follow her "Carl.." Rick told him, as Carl turned to him "I love you." Rick told him, as Carl turned continuing up the ladder, he stood next to Katniss as the two looked down watching Rick "hey! Hey!" he shouted, banging on the door "you want some!" he shouted, pulling the pole out of the handles "come and get it!" he shouted, opening the doors, he stepped back leading them all in "come on! Come on!" he voiced, turning and running to the ladder "over here!" he voiced, climbing up it, he looked to Katniss "Katniss, now!" he voiced, as Katniss flicked the lighter on and dropped it down, as her and Carl watched as all the walkers got set on fire, Rick walked over to them and looked down.

But as the walkers began moving toward's them reaching up at them, the three backed out onto the look out, where, Rick, Katniss and Carl were then shooting the walkers that were below them, as Rick noticed the RV coming around "hey! Get in here!" he voiced, pointing in front of them "put it right there! Come on!" he voiced, as the RV pulled up, Rick jumped to it and as he did, he turned holding his hand out, Katniss jumped over next, as Carl then jumped over onto the landing of the barn, the three then walked over to the RV, moving toward's the ladder in the back.

Rick climbed down first, kicking one of the walkers in the face, he then shot it, as he jumped down shooting the others that were coming there way, Katniss then climbed down the ladder, as Rick grabbed her, Carl then climbed down as he grabbed him, the walkers from the barn reached for them, as they ran around the RV, they heard screaming and saw blood, as they turned around, running off, heading around the barn "there. Head for the woods now," Rick said, picking Katniss up "as fast as you can. Come on." he said, as they ran into the woods.

Heading out of them on the other side of the house, the three found Hershel shooting walkers, as Rick put Katniss down, bringing his gun up to the walker that was walking behind Hershel, he shot it, as Hershel turned to them "where's Lori? Did you see Lori?" Rick asked him "I don't know what happened, Rick. They just keep coming. It's like a plague. They're everywhere." Hershel shared "Lori! Did you see her?" Rick asked "no!" Hershel voiced "we have to go. Find mom and the others." Rick shared, shooting another walked "it's my farm!" Hershel voiced "not anymore!" Rick voiced, pulling Hershel with them, the four of them turned heading toward's the van, Rick got into the drivers seat while Katniss and Carl hopped into the passenger, Hershel got in the back, as Rick began driving off.
