Son Wu sat on the floor of his room, stretching.

Cats littered his room, wandering and sleeping on his bed, pawing at his quivering muscles or stretching by his side. Two kittens mewled and meowed, pawing at his tail until it flicked in annoyance, sending them staggering back just to pounce back on it in delight.

He worked meticulously, contorting his form in whatever way he could to loosen up his body to the maximum degree. He had to leave every muscle fiber stretched and every joint loosened. He could not afford to be failed by his body, not when a fight of this magnitude waited for him.

He stood up, slowly, his tail flicking once to cast off the kittens that had been clinging to it. He strode over to the wall, extending his leg as far above his head as he could and pressing the sole of his foot to the wall, leaning forward to stretch his groin.

"Your range of movement... It's still mesmerizing...~"

Wu didn't turn his gaze to Yae Miko as she entered.

"Don't even..." Wu, his eyes closed, sighed, a smirk crawling onto the corners of his lips. He brought his foot down slowly, switching to the other to even himself out.

...

"Are you confident that you can match her?" Miko asked.

"Pride has no place in this battle... not anymore." Wu said opened his eyes, turning his gaze downwards. "It doesn't matter how ready or confident I am. I will fight." Wu said, his brows furrowing. "It stopped being about me the moment people died for my sake..." Wu's jaw twitched as his voice grew low and angered.

"And I will not dispute that..." Miko said.

Wu stepped back from the wall, clenching and unclenching his fists. His ki was already flowing around his body, a slow, calm film around his silhouette, honed by his resolve.

"...If you are so free of pride for this battle in particular, would you accept a tool that would give you an edge against her?" Miko asked.

Wu raised an eyebrow as Miko produced a small, pink ribbon made from delicate looking silk.

"What is this...?" Wu asked.

"It's a charm... If worn by you, it will allow you some protection against Ei's electro." Miko said.

"To what degree?" Wu asked.

"It would nullify a glancing strike. Perhaps even dull the strength of a head on strike to a non-lethal area. That is all I can promise." Miko said. "But it will only work once or twice. Afterwards, you will be completely bare to Ei's wrath." Miko said. "To keep it from getting in the way of your combat, I'd like to tie it around your tail..." Miko said.

Wu stared at the ribbon as the breeze within the room made the soft silk flutter slightly.

Wu sighed, turning around and crossing his arms, his tail flicking side to side.

Miko smiled with gratitude, kneeling down and taking the charm, tying the pink ribbon around the base of Wu's tail.

...

"Did you have to tie it into a bow...?" Wu asked, an embarrassed squiggle in his lips.

Miko let out a low laugh.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't help it..." Miko said, stifling her snickers.

"Hah..." Wu let out a low, frustrated breath, averting his gaze.

"Would you allow it...?" Miko asked.

...

"For you." Wu said, stepping away from her as his tail lashed with annoyance.
