"He's finally come to aid us!"
"The Golden Warrior!"
"The Dragonbane!"
"The Vanquisher!"
Wu didn't know what face to wear as dozens of men donning resistance uniforms flocked around him as he and his allies walked into the Watatsumi territory. Each one had a different epithet for him, each and every one more grandiose than the next. Who had spread the word of his existence to these people so quickly? Or was he really that notorious? Despite all that his heart desired, it wasn't this. He settled with a neutral expression, brow imperceptivity furrowed, and his mouth a thin line.
"I told you, Wu... you're what we need..." Kuzushi smiled, speaking lightly in his ear.
"We're right here, Wu...! Don't you dare let this go to your head!" Paimon barked directly into his other.
Past all of the gleaming eyes and wide smiles that made Wu fight a cringe, the landscape told a tale of the resistance's plight. Compared to the bustling city scape on the mainland, Watatsumi's people had the equivalent to a shanty town. Sparsely spaced wooden housing dotted the landscape, squeezed into the smaller landmass. What little areas of green had been converted into barely viable farmland, most of the island's space taken up by the deep bowl of the islands shape, holding a lush valley bellow filled with water, but also scores of beasts and hostile fauna.
He was escorted by admirers up until he was led to the grand shrine of Watatsumi island, a palace cradled in what looked to be a colossal oyster shell. The closer he got, more admirers broke off, bowing to him reverently until it was just him, Aether, Paimon and Kuzushi striding into the shrine grounds.
"Presenting General Gorou of the Revolutionary Army, and Sangonomiya Kokomi, divine priestess of Watatsumi Island, and leader of the Resistance!" A soldier bellowed, standing at attention as the door to the shrine opened. Two figures strode out of the shrine. A shorter man in light armor with light brown hair, dog ears and a bushy tail stepped in stride with a woman cloaked in a dress in all the colors of the sea, blues, purples, and blacks adorned her in stripes, highlighted by her bright pink hair, a paler shade than Miko's.
"Why did my mind go to her at this time...?" Wu thought.
"We have heard much about you, Son Wu. When word came of your defeat at the Shogun's hand, we feared for the worst, but it seems your strength allowed you to endure even her wrath..." Kokomi uttered, an unseen wisdom shining through her otherwise disarming voice.
"Tch... You overestimate me..." Wu said, flashing the mangled half of his tail.
"I... I see... So even with you in Inazuma, the Shogun is still peerless..." Kokomi observed, her eyes flickering with a flash of dread. "...For what reason have you come, warrior?" She asked, looking him in the eye.
"I want to help the Resistance fend off the Shogunate. While I fight for myself, and frankly find the idea of visions laughable, I don't stand for needless suffering or oppression." Wu said. "I'll fight for you. With my only hangups being that I won't kill people or become an official part of your army. I am a free agent who wishes to aid, but I won't bow to anyone." Wu said.
"...Very well. Your joining of our side, no matter the context, will skyrocket troop morale. While the Shogun remains unstoppable for the time being, you will most certainly shift the balance of power on the front lines." Kokomi said.

The Raiden Shogun sat still in the heart of Tenshukaku, her seat above a set of stairs in a great hall. She was silent, still, and yet her presence permeated every square inch of the space.
