Son Wu meditated in the center of the gravity chamber, using the silence of the room to bring tranquility to his mind. The remaining half of his tail swayed back and forth, brushing across the hard metal of the floor.

Miko was right. In truth, the damage to his ki flow wasn't as bad as he had thought. It was still catastrophic, but instead of being less than 1/4th of his previous base power, he was instead sitting at around 1/2 of his base power. And it only rose with each day he trained.

It made sense. Vegeta, in the legend, was slaughtering alien warriors on Namek only about a month after losing his tail.

...

But he wasn't Vegeta. And he had no idea if he'd have a month at all.

Super Saiyan was still sealed off from him for the time being, and the Kaio-Ken's self destructive nature made it a last resort on a good day.

...

Bah... It didn't help that his mind drifted to other things, despite the grounding environment.

He wondered how Aether and Paimon were doing, no doubt flipping their shit after their Deus Ex-Machina was most likely murdered by the Raiden Shogun.

He wondered if Kuzushi thought the same. He imagined the stoic warrior calling him an idiot for throwing his life away.

Shenhe and Bennet... He wondered how they were doing. He hoped they were well.

He thought about the Raiden Shogun. The first real hurdle in his journey. No... More than that. If every great fight Wu has had in his journey here was a hurdle, then the Raiden Shogun was a plateau that reached up to the stratosphere.

Then, there was his thoughts of home...

...

...

...

Yeah, not touching that.

And beyond that all, particularly another train of thought was particularly nagging Wu.

...

The softness of Miko's legs when she put him in that chokehold.

The teasing, breathy lilt of her voice.

Her utter fearlessness in the presence of his wrath.

Her confidence, temper, and the fire that flashed at times.

...

...

...

He thought about the stories of Vegeta and Bulma Briefs.

Yae Miko strode into the gravity chamber, her steps slow and soft as she gazed at Wu, who now stood tall in the center of the chamber, facing away from her. His entire body glowed with ki as he let it flow throughout him. Like the currents of an ocean, his energy made a gentle circuit through the tideways of his body. It seemed almost perfect, but the flow through the tideways within his tail were marred beyond belief, leading to a lot of energy being wasted.

"You gonna stop staring at my ass...?" Wu asked.

"How vulgar... You wish I was focusing on that. As expected, your tail was an integral part to your prowess as a warrior." Miko noted. "So how will you endure without it to lean on?" She asked.

"...Aren't you supposed to tell me?" Wu said.

Miko laughed, a low, taunting laugh that made Wu's brow twitch.

"My, just how did you manage to survive this long?" She asked.

"Well excuse me for expecting my teacher to know something about what I need!" Wu spat, his tail lashing. "For fuck's sake... First the Adepti, now you... Even after 500 years of peace, there were better teachers in the martial arts on my world." Wu grunted.
