"Gh...!"
Aether fell to one knee, his body slamming down when it should have been less than a small impact.
The traveler trembled in place as 50X Teyvat's gravity dug into his back, pushing every inch of his body down with immense pressure. Wu stood across from him within the portable training room, a disapproving look on his face. Paimon peered through a viewing window, munching snacks as she saw her partner and the monkey train.
"Yeesh... In Mondstadt, you were at least able to do something against me, but ever since I really picked up my training, the gap between us has kept widening..." Wu said, crossing his arms as he stood calmly under the force of gravity.
"How did you even get so strong so fast...!?" Aether gasped.
"Saiyan blood does wonders... But in the end, all it takes is sit-ups, pushups, a gauntlet of impossibly powerful enemies, the ability to get insanely stronger every time you recover from catastrophic damage, and plenty of orange juice..." Wu said. "In all honesty, you're doing pretty good at your pace. You're lithe, and damn quick, and your elements are tricky to fight against in a chicken-shit hit-and-run kind of way." Wu said.
"You make me sound like a coward who uses underhanded tactics...!" Aether said in a strained grunt.
"Do whatever it takes to win, man! Victory is what stands between seeing what you want to happen come to fruition and watching someone else have their way with what's rightfully yours. Go bananas, stab a dude in the foot with a rock spike, choke a man to death in a localized wind tunnel!" Wu said.
"I...! You're just...!" Aether said, his brow furrowing.
Wu chuckled.
"You're a hero, Aether. I, on the other hand, am a warrior." Wu said.
Wu tapped button on his wristband, letting out a calm breath as the gravity field died, allowing Aether to let out a pained grunt as the force was taken off of his back.
"If we can find more time to actually train together, I have no doubt you'll do great." Wu said.
"No need to wait...! Let's have a spar now, I can take it!" Aether said, drawing his sword.
"...Alright, look, I was being encouraging for the sake of your ego, but watch yourself. I'll try to find time to get Benny to spar with you, he'll probably be a better matchup..." Wu said.
"The great Son Wu, afraid to fight...?" Aether asked tauntingly, inching into his stance as he gripped his sword.
...
"Do. Not. Test me right now..." Wu's eyes narrowed, a wicked smirk opening across his face.
"If I want to get out of your shadow, I need to know just what I'm-"
"I warned you."
CRASH!!!
----------
"Waaahhh! Travelar!!!" Paimon wept, clutching Aether's arm as he laid in the infirmary of the Alcor's living quarters. Half of his face was bandaged, hiding a nasty bruise.
"Paimon, I'm fine..." Aether muttered.
"You were so young...! Paimon will get revenge on that stupid monkey, she promises!!!" Paimon cried.
"I'm right here..." Wu sighed, crossing his arms.
----------
"I was thinking... Maybe I can try to use pure elemental energy, or, um... ki, like you do, Wu..." Aether said, having joined Wu in the training room again after recovering.
