Part 40 - The Queen is Back

Red pov:

Holding my phone in my hand, I look down as I let out a few heavy breaths. Chloe can clearly hear it as she places her hand on my arm.

Chloe: Are you ok?

I look at her hand before looking up at her face. She lets go of my arm and slides her arms around me, hugging me tightly. Her head on my shoulder. I could smell her vanilla perfume that was on her neck. Her scent was so soothing. I hugged her back for 20 seconds before letting go.

Red: we need to hurry back to school and change before going to the hospital.

We then got to the bike and rode back to school.

Red: You go get our clothes. I'll make an announcement.

I ran down the halls to Uma's office. She wasn't there, but I was able to access the intercom.

Red: Attention students, the Queen of Hearts, have now awoken from her coma. Please follow the rulebook starting tomorrow.

I then see Chloe run back with our clothes. We go to a nearby washroom and change before running back down the halls and into the cafeteria where people were eating supper.

Red: Stay out of trouble, people! This is not a drill!

Chloe: Yeah, what she said!

I then ran out as Chloe ran after me. Got to my bike and got on before heading to the hospital. Once there, I walked into the emergency with Chloe not far behind me.

Nurse: Right this way, Princess Red.

He then led me to her room, but before going in, I pulled Chloe aside.

Red: Wait.

She steps back.

Red: Before we go in. I need you to call Evie, Mal, and Jay. They are now in danger. I'll need to talk to my mother alone. I'll meet you in the waiting room when I'm done.

Chloe: ok, see you later.

She then heads off as I take a deep breath before entering the room. I walk in as I see my mother still in bed. I stopped when I was about 2 meters from the bed.

Red: Hello, mother. You are awake.

QoH: Hello, daughter. What happened, and why am I in this room?

Red: Well, I accidentally struck you with my lightning bolt, and you fell in a coma.

QoH: And how long ago was that?

Red: about a week and a half. 

The nurse then comes in.

Nurse: ok, Miss Queen of Hearts, everything seems to be good. You'll be good to go when you're ready.

The nurse then leaves. I look back at me, mom, who vets out of bed and walks up to me.

QoH: And you followed the directions of the paper I gave you.

Red: I have.

QoH: Good. I'll be heading back to Wonderland for tonight, and tomorrow, we will meet at your school for further discussion.

Red: understood, I'll be heading back on my bike. See you tomorrow.

My mom then dismissed me. I leave the room and find Chloe in the waiting room.

Red: Let's go back to school.
