Chloe pov:
After school was over, Red went right to our room and went right under the covers of the bed. She hid her face, and I sat beside her on the covers. I could hear her sobs through the sheets as I placed my hand, trying to feel her.
Chloe: it's ok to cry Red, let it all out.
I've never seen Red cry so much. This must've been different. She's seen over a thousand beheadings, but this one made her feel something. After 10 minutes of trying to soothe her through the sheets, she finally stuck her face out of the covers. She was lying on her back, and she just looked up at me. Her eyes were puffy and red from all the crying. I gently moved her hair out of her face with my middle finger and moved it behind her ear before gently cupping her face.
Red: Chloe?
Her voice sounded broken.
Chloe: Yes, Red?
Red: I really need you right now.
I lean forward, and she wraps her arms around me, pulling me in. At first, it was like a tight hug, but then she flipped over, making me fall on the bed, laying on my back. She then sits on me as she cups my face, leaning over before kissing me. I gave in a first before I could hear a small noise come from her mouth. She didn't pull out from the kiss but then drags her hands to my wrists, pinning them down. Her lips did not leave mine and push me further onto the bed. I could taste her tears that were falling from her face. I struggled to break free of her grasp but was able to move my face away from the kiss.
Chloe: Red, stop!
She tried to kiss me again, but I moved my face away again.
Chloe: This isn't a healthy way to cope.
I then froze as I realized she never learned how to cope with grief. She's just trying to distract herself from the pain by kissing me because it feels good. I manage to sit up, pushing her away from me. She was now on her hands and knees on the end of the bed, looking at me, tears slowly falling from her face.
Chloe: You can't cope like this, I know you don't want to feel this pain. But kissing me againt my will like that won't do any good for any of us...
I then noticed her sitting before noticing what she's done. She then backs up away from me but falls off the bed. She gets up as I try to go help her. She then puts her hands in front of her.
Red: I'm so sorry.... I didn't mean to force my kiss on you.... I don't even know what I was thinking....
Her face was full of fear. I then got up and walked a little closer to her, but she kept her distance.
Chloe: it's ok, Red. I gave in before realizing what you were trying to do.... I just want to help.
I then slowly walk closer to her as she lets me in her bubble again.
Chloe: I want to help you cope in a healthy way, ok?..... and we will do that with communication, understand?
She nods.
Chloe: Use your words.
Red: Yes....
She said in a gusty way. I then slowly gestured her hand as she put her into mine. I then bring her back to the bed, where we then sit on the edge. I gave her a moment to try and compose herself.
Chloe: I know that everything lately has been a lot for you. Today was exceptionally bad. I can see that it's affecting you a lot.... did you want to try and talk about it? Maybe get it off your chest?
I then gave her a moment to respond as she found the courage to speak.
Red: he's my father.... even if I only got to talk to him for 10 minutes, he was amazing. He was kind and felt more of a parental figure than my mom ever did....
