Part 70 - The King of Hearts

Red pov:

What this this man just say to me?

Red: What do you mean?

KoH: I am your father.

Red: My father got beheaded when I was 5. What even are you on?

I back up Chloe still behind me.

KoH: Can you let me explain?

The man said as I hesitated, looking him up and down before turning to Chloe, who shrugs. I then point to a bench, and we sit.

Red: Go, but if you try anything funny, I won't hesitate to call the guards.

The man took a deep breath before speaking.

KoH: Well, as you can see, I'm not actually dead. When you were 5, I knew your mother was planning on beheading me, so i came up with a plan. Since I don't have magic in my blood like her, I had to get creative. One day, I managed to steal a good amount of essence she kept in a safe. The day of the beheading, I was able to cast a clone of myself and escaped. I ran away and stayed in the shadows for years.

Red: Wait, but we're were locked in Wonderland.

KoH: Well, you and her seemed convinced that I was dead. She never tried to find me. When the portal got shattered by the blood diamond, I snuck my way here and been living like a citizen of Auradon.

Red: So you made a clone that took your place when you got beheaded?

The man nods.

KoH: I really didn't want to leave you, but for some reason, your mother had other plans for me. I just had to do what I needed to live.... I hope you're not mad at me....

He looks at me with pity. I shook my head.

Red: But how do I know it's actually you, got any proof?

He then takes out his wallet and showed and shows 5 photos, one with him and mom, one with all 3 of us, one with just me and him.

Chloe: Awe, you looked so cute as a toddler.

I covered the photos so Chloe would stop staring at them.

Red: ok, I believe you. Moving on.

I say, glacing at Chloe before turning back to my father.

Red: Well, if you want to stay alive, you should stay away.

KoH: But I just got to meet you.

Red: Yeah, and my mom will be furious if she ever sees you.

QoH: Red, where are you, we need to-

My mother then shows up around a bush and sees the man on the bench. She looked confused until she recognized him.

QoH: How on earth are you even alive!

She snaps her fingers, and guards quickly grab the man and make him kneel. He grunts as my mother then walks to him before slapping his across the face with all her might.

QoH: Answer me, you useless man!

She growls.

KoH: You didn't actually kill me. You killed the clone I cast with your essence.

Before he could finish his sentence, my mom slapped his face again. I took a step closer to my mother.

Red: Why are you hitting him.

QoH: he's a bad man. Taking what's mine.

My mother clenched her teeth.

Red: But he only made a clone so you wouldn't kill him. That isn't the worst thing.
