Part 97 - My Turn to Care for You

Red pov:

I woke up to hear coughing. I flutter my eyes open as I notice I'm alone in bed. I groan a little as I adjust to the light, opening my eyes. I looked at the time on the nightstand, and it'd 6:55 am, 35 minutes before our usual alarm. I got up, went to the washroom where the coughing came from, and saw Chloe looking miserable.

Chloe: Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you.

She says, coughing again.

Red: Chloe, you are sick. Why aren't you in bed.

Chloe: I didn't want to get you sick and wake you up.

💭Chloe: Gosh, I feel so sick right now. Now I can't help Red with her training.

Red: Are you seriously worrying about our training right now?

💭Chloe: uuhhh....

Red: Chloe, you need rest. Come on back to bed.

I then get Chloe back into bed as Ruby wakes up.

Ruby: Good morning.

She stretches and sees Chloe.

Ruby: Oh no, what happened?

Chloe: I got sick somehow. At least Red isn't sick.... why aren't you sick?

I shrug my shoulders.

💭Chloe: Not looking forward to class.

Red: um no you ain't. You are not leaving this bed.

Chloe: But...

Red: That's an order, Chloe.

I then took my phone and called Uma.

Red: Hey Uma, Chloes is sick, so we won't be attending class today.

Uma: Thank you for letting me know. I hope she gets well soon.

After hanging up , I let Ruby get ready and leave. I sit on the edge of the bed as I then assess Chloes' symptoms.

Red: It looks like you have a cold. Let me see if there's any magic that can help.

I look it up on my phone, and no magic can cure a cold.

Red: Magic can fix a decapitated head but not a cold? The world we live in.

I then walk back to Chloe, who's lying in bed.

Red: I will be back. You stay in bed. Be a good girl for me. Love you.

I then leave the room and head I to town. I found a pharmacy and got everything I needed. On the way back to school, I noticed a small bakery. I walked in and took a deep breath, smelling all the sweet pastries. I walk to the counter. This preppy lady asked what I wanted. I looked around at the different foods in the glass casing. I look up at her.

Red: I don't know, I kinda wanna just wanna surprise my sick girlfriend with something sweet. Do you have any recommendations?

She then pointed to this pastry through the glass.

Lady: This here is a croissant, but it has a strawberry inside and a drizzle of chocolate on top. It's very popular if you want to try that one?

Red: Sure, I'll take two, please.

She bags them up, and I pay before walking back to the dorm. When I walked into school, people were headed to class, and I accidentally bumped unto Leah.

Red: Sorry, Leah, I didn't mean to run into you.

Leah: it's ok. Ooh who are those for?

Red: Chloe and me. She's sick so I'm surprised to see her.
