Chloe pov:
We were just standing by the cafeteria door looking at everyone wearing the same chokers Red made us wear. A student passed by me and hands me a sealed envelope before walking away. I then look down and open the envelope as Mal and Evie look over my shoulders and read the letter with me.
"Hi, I'm Princess Red of Wonderland. I have slipped this envelope with these chokers under your door because I want to see who else can possibly relate to me. I got an invitation to attend Auradon prep, I was expecting to go to school and be a normal student just like you. My mother, being my mother, had to ruin my experience and everyone else's. A few days ago, I had to make a tough decision and had to act the way I did in order to save Mal, Evie, and Uma. I had to make them wear these chokers, and I hated having to do that. Soon after, Chloe and I also started to wear them to symbolize how we are all playing the queen's game. None of us are happy about how things are going, but we don't have much of a choice. I know you must all be hating on Chloe right now because she broke the Wonderland portal, but please be respectful to her because she's a nice girl and doesn't deserve the hate. She only did what she felt was right, which was to save me from Wonderland. If you are also not happy about the queen's decisions, rules, or feeling helpless like you're also playing "Her game," wear these chokers. - Red"
I then look up at all the students who are wearing the chokers.
Chloe: woah.
Red, who was standing in front of us, seemed to be waiting for my reply on the matter. I walk over to her and just give her a big hug.
Chloe: Thank you, Red.
She hugs me back before we all walk over, getting our food and sitting at our table. While eating, a few students came up to Red.
Student: Hey Red, is it true that you're trying to protect Mal and Evie?
Red: Yes... I've been trying since they first got captured. I believe that one day, if we all work together, we can save Auradon.... just not yet.
Student: Chloe, is it true that you broke the portal to save Red?
Chloe: Yes, I knew Red didn't deserve to be locked back in Wonderland. It was a tough decision for me too, but I knew it's what I had to do.
Student: Cool, thanks.
Then they left. I noticed Red feeling uneasy as she sat there quiet.
Chloe: Are you ok, Red?
Red: yep.... I'm just feeling very helpless about everything.
Evie: Like you said, if we work together, we might have the chance to save Auradon.
Mal: kinda like how me and I combined our strengths and were able to defeat Audrey.
Red: Sadly, my mother is 10 times stronger. She's got an entire army of guards, and her magic is incredibly strong. I'm hoping that after the royal ritual, where I'm supposed to be able to unleash my full magic potential that I'll be strong enough to even compare to her. Maybe then we can try to figure some way to save Auradon.
Soon, the bell rang, and we went to class. I sat beside Red, who kept playing with her choker again the entire time. I kept glancing at her. I lean over to whisper to her.
Chloe: Why do you keep playing with your choker?
She looks at me and leans over, too.
Red: I want to try something after class and see if it works. I'll tell you later, tho.
I nodded, and we continued class like normal until it was lunch. We sat down, and Red was ready to tell us her idea.
Red: I want to try something after this. I want to see if there's any way for me to be able to store my magic in some way. If my plan works, I should be able to store some of my blood as magic essence and store it in my heart-shaped locket here in my choker.
