Ethan wrote out a prescription and handed it over to the Brooks family, instructing them to procure the necessary herbs.
Afterward, he personally stayed in the kitchen to brew the medicine.
As he worked, Ethan noticed that the white light on the Life-Death Jade had grown to three fragments.
"I wonder if three fragments are enough to save someone directly?" Ethan mused, his thoughts interrupted as Dr. Sun entered, looking somewhat hesitant.
Ethan glanced up with a smile. "Dr. Sun, what's the matter? Is something wrong with Mr. Brooks?"
"No, no, he's doing great! I just checked him—his pulse and heartbeat are steady," Dr. Sun replied with a warm smile. "He even ate some porridge and fell into a deep sleep. He's snoring so loud we can't wake him up."
"This is the first time in half a month that he's slept so soundly," Dr. Sun added.
Ethan nodded gently. "Good. As long as he continues taking the medicine for a few more doses, he'll fully recover."
"Brother Ethan, your skills are miraculous," Dr. Sun praised, his admiration evident. "At your age, to have such mastery—unprecedented!"
Ethan chuckled. "Dr. Sun, if you have something to ask, just say it."
Caught off guard, Dr. Sun laughed awkwardly. "I guess I'm not very good at compliments. You saw right through me."
"Well, Brother Ethan, I have a small favor to ask," Dr. Sun began, his tone almost sheepish, like a child asking for something forbidden. "Could you teach me your Nine Palaces Revival acupuncture technique?"
"No, no, not for free—I'm willing to pay any price!" He lowered his head further. "Just name your price."
Ethan was momentarily taken aback. Dr. Sun wanted to learn about the Nine Palaces Revival.
Though the technique comprised only nine needles, each had nine variations, creating 81 combinations. Teaching one was insignificant to Ethan, but he was surprised it had such value.
Dr. Sun's anxiety grew as Ethan remained silent. He knew such ancient techniques were priceless and rarely shared. However, if he could learn it, not only would his skills improve, but the Sun family would gain an invaluable legacy, potentially surpassing their rivals in the capital.
"If it's not possible, I understand. I overstepped," Dr. Sun finally said, his face flushed with embarrassment. "Please forgive my boldness."
"Why bring money into this, Dr. Sun? That's so formal," Ethan laughed heartily. "I'll teach you for free."
"For free?"
Dr. Sun was stunned. "You'll teach me for free?"
He couldn't believe it. This was the Nine Palaces Revival technique, capable of reviving the seemingly dead. A single lesson could easily be worth billions, or even more if one opened a school to teach it.
Dr. Sun would have been willing to trade his entire medical hall for it.
Yet Ethan offered it for free as if it were nothing.
"Of course for free. Medicine is meant to save lives, not to be hoarded," Ethan replied nonchalantly. "Come, while I still have the energy, let me teach you the first needle..."
Dr. Sun trembled with excitement. "You're really willing to teach me?"
Ethan nodded. "The more people who know it, the more lives can be saved. It's a good deed."
