The square-faced bodyguard's body trembled, then he collapsed to the ground like a heap of mud.
He couldn't say a word.
As he lay on the floor, his two companions also fell, their faces turning blue with pain, unable to speak.
They looked at Ethan in disbelief.
Wasn't he just a useless son-in-law? How could he be so powerful?

Ethan didn't even spare them a glance, stepping over their bodies as he walked past.

At that moment, amidst the cheers, Vincent Bright ignored Sophia's rejection and kept shouting,
"Sophia, marry me, marry me."
"If you don't marry me, I won't get up."

He looked sincere, his expression filled with passion, his posture determined as though he wouldn't stand up until she agreed.
"Sophia, hurry up and agree. Why are you just standing there?"

"Yeah, Mr. Vincent has been kneeling for too long, his knees are going to break."

"He's kneeling, and you're still not agreeing? Are you human?"
Several women scolded Sophia, feeling she was too unreasonable.

Sophia watched the scene, her face growing pale.
She had seen many scoundrels, but never someone like Vincent Bright.
Her impression of him grew even worse.

In order for her brother to win the girl, Luna Bright shouted the loudest,
"Agree to him, agree to him."
They all believed that with enough pressure, Sophia would surely nod in agreement.
After all, compared to Vincent Bright, Ethan was nothing. It was obvious who Sophia would choose.

At that moment, Ethan stepped forward.

When Luna Bright saw Ethan appear, she was stunned. How did the bodyguards let this useless man in?

Then she shouted at Ethan,
"Ethan, come join us and tell Sophia to accept my brother."

"Don't you want Sophia to be happy?"

"To love someone isn't to possess them, but to make them happy for a lifetime."

Ethan didn't say a word. He just calmly walked toward Sophia, standing beside her.

Sophia snorted, "You're late!"

She shot Ethan a glare. If Ethan hadn't been so late, she could've escaped with his help by now, without having to feel so passive.

She had tried to leave several times, but Luna Bright and the others kept blocking her. The crowd of people was laughing, and she couldn't even get angry.

Ethan gave a bitter smile, "There was a traffic jam."

Sophia took a step back, snorting, "I don't care. You clean up this mess."

"With me here, it's fine."

Ethan's calm words instantly soothed Sophia's frustrated heart. She didn't want to admit it, but the truth was, Ethan made her feel secure.

"Is this the beautiful woman's husband? He looks so ordinary."
"I heard he's a live-in son-in-law, eating soft rice. Sophia, why stay with a useless man when you could be with a rich and handsome guy like Mr. Vincent?"

"Yes, Mr. Vincent is so handsome and rich, and he doesn't mind that you're married. You should be honored."

The crowd chattered, obviously more inclined toward Vincent Bright, as vanity is human nature.

A few women looked at Ethan with disdain, feeling he was being foolish.

Seeing Ethan appear, Vincent Bright's expression didn't change. He looked at him with contempt, pulling out a bank card and tossing it toward Ethan.
"Ten million. Leave Sophia."
