After Victor Blacke and his men left, Ethan walked up to Andrew Brooks and said with a smile, "Mr. Brooks, thank you for tonight."
He expressed his gratitude to the old man, "Without you, I might have faced a lot of trouble."
"Why are you thanking me?"
Andrew burst into laughter. "Not to mention that you saved my life before, even if I hadn't shown up tonight, the one at a disadvantage wouldn't have been you, Ethan."
"I was merely adding a bit of flair."
With his keen eye for people, Andrew knew that if Ethan couldn't handle the situation just now, Victor wouldn't have shown him such respect.
Emily Brooks raised her pretty face and tugged on Ethan's sleeve, "Me, me, me! You should thank me! I saved you just now with my throwing knife."
"Alright, thank you."
Ethan chuckled, "How about I give you an extra half-month off?"
"You jerk..."
Emily muttered, "I thought you'd cancel our bet."
"In your dreams."
Ethan almost patted that charming spot but held back, then turned to Andrew with a smile, "Mr. Brooks, has your health been alright lately?"
"Thanks to your miraculous hands, Ethan, my body has been improving day by day, and all my indicators are basically back to normal."
Talking about his health, Andrew's face lit up with joy, "Even the rheumatism and kidney stones that bothered me are gone."
"Emily's chronic illness has also been cured."
"I've been wanting to invite you for a drink to properly thank you for everything you've done for my granddaughter and me."
"But Ms. Scarlet said you were busy renovating your clinic, so I didn't want to disturb you. I planned to celebrate properly when you open."
"Didn't expect to run into you tonight. But to be sure, I'd like you to check my pulse, Ethan."
As he spoke, Andrew extended his hand, "Your word is the only one I trust."
A hint of warmth appeared in Emily's eyes. Although she was still bitter about their bet, she had to admit that Ethan's medical skills were exceptional.
"Alright, I'll check your pulse."
Ethan reached out to feel Andrew's pulse, his eyes showing a trace of curiosity after a moment.
"Mr. Brooks, your body is generally fine, but your blood pressure is a bit high, your throat is slightly inflamed, and you have stomach heat."
"It's nothing serious. I'll send Emily a prescription later, and it should be resolved in about ten days."
Andrew's blood pressure was unusually high. Given his recovery and relaxed mind, it shouldn't be this way. But Ethan didn't see it as a major problem.
Andrew laughed, "I feel at ease with your words, Ethan."
"And me? And me..."
Emily eagerly extended her hand, "Check me out too!"
Ethan took her pulse, then slightly frowned, "That's odd. Your leg is fine, but you also have throat inflammation and liver heat."
"Have you been eating too much spicy food or staying up late?"
Emily was stunned, "No, our diet has been very mild, and we haven't been staying up late either."
