When Ethan left the police station, Evan Mitchell and Martin Fletcher collapsed to the ground.
Ethan didn't ask about their fate, but he knew it wouldn't end well.
Even if Raymond Yates didn't clean up these parasites, Eugene Zacher and Kevin Lin wouldn't let them off easily.
At three o'clock in the afternoon, in front of the Golden Clinic, Raymond Yates personally escorted Ethan back.
He even helped the clinic renew its business license. Ricky immediately hung it up cheerfully and took a photo of Ethan and Raymond together.
Standing beside Raymond was Jack Yates, the head of the police. Compared to Raymond's composure, Jack appeared more rebellious, with an aura of danger about him.
He kept scrutinizing Ethan with sharp eyes as if trying to uncover something from him.
However, he didn't interrupt Raymond's actions at all.
"Ethan, Evan Mitchell, and Martin Fletcher have already been taken down and charged. Their past corruption is enough to ruin them," Raymond spoke with newfound respect, a stark contrast to his aloof demeanor yesterday. "Martin confessed that this was instigated by Sophia."
Ethan fell silent for a moment, not expecting that Sophia would indeed follow through on her words and use her connections to try to shut down Golden Clinic.
"But Sophia only asked him to stop you from practicing medicine, worried that your lack of skill would harm the locals," Raymond relayed the statement truthfully.
"The one who ordered the harsh crackdown and had Evan Mitchell cooperate closely was the young master of East Sun Group."
Ethan's eyes gleamed. "Vincent Bright?"
Raymond nodded with a smile. "Looks like you're well-informed, Ethan."
A sly grin crossed Ethan's face. Vincent Bright truly was ruthless, using Sophia as a cover to strike at him mercilessly while keeping his own hands clean.
Whether or not the clinic was eventually shut down, Vincent could sow discord between him and Sophia either way.
Jack also looked at Ethan with amusement. A man whose wife had orchestrated the closure of his clinic—how pathetic and defeated must his life be?
"Director Yates, thank you. I'll take care of the rest," Ethan said with a smile, shifting the topic. "Had some trouble yesterday?"
Raymond immediately grabbed Ethan's hand, his voice filled with respect. "I failed to see your greatness before... truly failed to see it."
He lifted his shirt, revealing his sturdy chest covered in four large bruises—dark and severe, yet not fatal.
He also pulled out the Taiji charm Ethan had given to Ryan Barker for him.
The red paper talisman had turned to ashes.
With a gust of wind, the ashes scattered into nothingness...
Jack was stunned. "Brother, what exactly happened?"
Raymond glanced at his brother before recounting his ordeal.
After leaving the Summer Breeze Club yesterday, Raymond drove home for a nap but found himself trapped in a state of sleep paralysis—conscious but unable to move.
Just as he felt he was suffocating, a burning sensation on his chest jolted him awake, allowing him to gasp for air.
Even so, he was left exhausted, drenched in sweat.
