After leaving the Thompson family's company entrance, Ethan got into Ricky's car and drove away.
"Where to, Ethan?"
Ricky wanted to say something but ultimately decided not to meddle in the couple's affairs to avoid deepening any conflicts.
"To see Victor Blacke," Ethan said calmly, looking ahead. "I'll entrust the debt collection to him."
He knew that Zhao Dongyang definitely wouldn't pay up easily tomorrow, so it was better to leave it to a professional like Victor Blacke.
Ethan then picked up his phone to call Victor Blacke, but no one answered.
"That old Victor... already busy this early?"
Ethan chuckled helplessly, then gestured for Ricky to head over anyway—perhaps they could even score a free dinner.
Ricky stepped on the gas and headed toward the Four Seas Chamber of Commerce.
He glanced at the navigation route and ultimately chose to go past the base of Cloudtop Mountain. During rush hour, this route could save half an hour.
In the past, he wouldn't have dared to take this road, but after following Ethan a few times, his apprehension gradually faded.
Once they entered the vicinity of Cloudtop Mountain, Ethan looked up slightly, his eyes instinctively showing a hint of caution as he gazed at the gloomy mountain.
He didn't know why, but every time he passed by Cloudtop Mountain, his nerves tightened, as if the mountain were a beast capable of devouring people.
"Skreech!"
As they drove past an abandoned villa complex, Ricky suddenly slammed on the brakes.
Ethan looked up and saw that several cars were blocking the road ahead.
One of them, a Cadillac, had its front end smashed, bullet holes and knife marks scattered across its body, and shattered windows.
"Victor Blacke's car?"
Ethan immediately recognized it as Victor Blacke's personal vehicle.
"Why is Victor Blacke's car here? And in such bad shape?"
A look of suspicion flashed in his eyes, and then his ears twitched as he caught the sound of screams coming from within the villa complex.
"Ricky, stay in the car and lock the doors."
After thinking for a moment, Ethan stepped out, casually picking up a few stones before heading toward the source of the noise.
He had some ties with Victor Blacke and wanted to find out what was going on.
The villa complex was large but dilapidated, with overgrown weeds and piles of abandoned concrete blocks. Without traces to follow, navigating the area would be difficult.
After about ten minutes, Ethan arrived at the entrance of an old, crumbling Villa No. 7.
In the villa's courtyard, Victor Blacke lay sprawled out, his massive body battered, clothes torn, ear scratched, an arrow lodged in his shoulder, and blood covering him.
A gash ran across his head.
He looked like a dying beast, his eyes filled with despair as he lay on the ground, mouth full of dirt and grass, struggling to breathe.
Standing around him were three men and one woman, all dressed in slacks, dress shirts, and black leather shoes, looking somewhat like real estate agents.
