After rescuing Ms. Scarlet, Ethan didn't linger at the scene. He gave a few instructions and left with Ricky to grab dinner.

He originally planned to go to a street-side stall, but Ricky insisted on treating Ethan to a better meal, so they ended up at Five Lakes Restaurant.

Ethan also called Sophia, hoping she could join them, but Sophia had to work overtime and couldn't make it. So, Ethan ended up dining alone with Ricky.

Ricky looked like a nouveau riche, but in reality, he was a very clever man. He had witnessed the gruesome deaths of Baron Hunter and his men, yet he didn't say a word and didn't ask Ethan what had happened.

As they neared Five Lakes Restaurant, Ricky took out a bank card and handed it to Ethan.

"Bro, this card has 20 million on it. It's all I have."

"Help me give it to your sister-in-law. Let her use it to solve her immediate problems. I planned to give it to her a few days ago, but the funds just came through."

"Also, tell her I feel useless. She saved me back then, but now I can't do much to help her."

Ricky had been worried about Sophia's financial struggles for a long time.

Ethan was surprised. He didn't expect Ricky to sell everything to raise money. He felt a bit touched but pushed the bank card back.

"Take the money back. Sophia's loan issue is already solved."

To reassure Ricky, he added, "I had Victor help out and called in a favor with Blossom Bank. The loan has been taken care of."

"Really?"

Ricky was momentarily stunned before his face lit up with joy.

"I knew it. With you around, Sophia's troubles would be solved."

Ricky had seen Victor show Ethan respect that night, so he believed that Sophia's issues were indeed resolved.

"Still, this 20 million should go to Sophia. The more money she has, the more at ease she'll be."

Ricky thought for a moment before speaking again.

"She's been through a lot lately."

"Let her have it. She's not having it easy, but at least she has me to share some of the burden."

Ethan shook his head. "You need the capital for your comeback."

"A comeback?"

Ricky gave a bitter laugh at those words.

"In the past, if I had 20 million and my connections, a comeback would have been easy."

"Even if I couldn't reach the pinnacle of my family, I could at least return to the upper class. But the reality shattered those thoughts."

"Those who once mocked me now won't even give me a chance to turn things around."

"They're afraid I'll seek revenge if I rise again. They also lack someone to trample on, so they prefer keeping me beneath their feet."

"Since my family went bankrupt, I've started seven or eight businesses, only to have them sabotaged and fail, losing over 10 million."

"The people who did this weren't my shallow stepmother, but those who once called me brother and the girlfriend I loved deeply..."

"Isn't that tragic?"

"So, I've given up on doing business and any thoughts of a comeback. Now, I just drive for a rideshare app."
