Late at night, at 10:30 PM, Ethan left the Summer Breeze Club.
Before his departure, Victor Blacke handed him a check for ten million dollars as payment for his services, marking Ethan's first significant earnings since his birth.
Ethan understood Victor's intentions. The hefty sum wasn't merely out of gratitude—it was also an investment in building a relationship.
Ethan's display of martial arts, divination, and medical skills made Victor believe he was of great value.
Although Ethan had initially wanted to maintain a distance from Victor, he realized that reclaiming Genting Villa in the future would inevitably require connections. Ultimately, he accepted the check.
Upon returning to the Thompson family villa, Ethan tread lightly and quietly made his way to the second floor.
As he opened the door to his room, he saw Sophia stepping out of the bathroom.
A white towel was wrapped around her, covering only the essential areas.
Ethan couldn't help but notice her impossibly straight and flawless legs.
A woman's legs often have imperfections—too long without being straight, straight but uneven in tone, or smooth but marred with small scars...
But Sophia's legs were a sight of sheer perfection, exuding an irresistible allure.
Ethan felt the heat rise in his breath.
"You're back?"
Sophia was slightly startled to see Ethan. Instinctively, she tightened her towel, then relaxed and composed herself:
"Are you okay?"
"Seeing how late you were, I thought the police had taken you away."
She tried to sound indifferent, but a hint of anxiety betrayed her. After all, Ethan had broken Hanson Zacher's fingers in front of everyone.
"I'm fine," Ethan replied, his eyes unconsciously following her until she entered her room.
"Victor handled everything. The Zacher family decided to let it go and won't cause me any trouble."
He added, "Even Eugene Zacher apologized to me."
"Good to hear," Sophia said with visible relief, though her eyes still held a trace of worry.
"But this time, you owe Victor a big favor."
She understood all too well that a man of Victor's stature didn't offer his help freely.
Having stood up for Ethan, Victor would surely demand something in return sooner or later.
"Next time, I'll give you ten thousand dollars. You can buy an expensive gift for Victor," Sophia suggested as she sat up straighter.
"The more of tonight's debt you can repay, the better."
Ethan chuckled, his voice reassuring. "Relax. I saved his life. Tonight's favor cancels out."
Sophia's worry eased slightly as she recalled Ethan saving Victor.
"Ethan, if there's no outstanding debt, try not to interact with Victor in the future," she advised.
"I don't want to end up visiting you in prison."
Getting too close to Victor would only invite trouble. While the Four Seas Chamber of Commerce might appear to be a legitimate business, its operations were deeply rooted in gray areas.
"Understood," Ethan nodded.
He then brought up something else. "By the way, why didn't you tell me about your financial troubles?"
