"Lily, is this your idea of class?"

Hearing those words, Alice's warmth turned cold.

"You're right, my class is not as high as yours."

Lily crossed her arms and smirked,

"But at least I'm healthy. I don't have muscle atrophy. I still have parents to rely on, and I make a million a year. What do you have?"

Upon realizing that Ethan and Alice were poor, the female sales assistants immediately looked at them with disdain, feeling that their time was being wasted.

"I'm going to file a complaint against you."

Alice snapped, "I'll report your rude and insulting behavior towards customers."

She didn't care about being insulted herself, but she couldn't stand Ethan being disrespected.

"Customer?"

Lily laughed mockingly,

"You're a customer? That's the funniest joke I've heard all year. Do you even have the money to buy anything here?"

"Everything here costs over ten thousand. Can you afford that?"

"A live-in son-in-law who depends on pocket money for medical bills, and a cripple who has to sell everything to pay for treatments. And you call yourselves customers?"

"Who are you kidding? You're just here for the air conditioning and to take pictures for social media. Customers? What a joke."

The other sales assistants covered their mouths in shock, realizing Ethan was a freeloading son-in-law. Their eyes filled with even more disdain.

Ethan didn't bother arguing. He simply pulled Alice away and said calmly,

"Alice, put this suit back. We'll go somewhere else."

Lily glanced at the suit Alice was holding and sneered,

"This is a luxury piece. Before you buy anything, make sure you check the price first. Wouldn't want you embarrassing yourselves."

Alice looked at the price tag—88,000. She was stunned.

Ethan ignored Lily's taunts and asked Alice,

"Do you like this one?"

Alice shook her head. It was too expensive.

Lily scoffed,

"Oh, what a performance! One of you plays the generous one, the other plays the reluctant one. Just admit you can't afford it."

"Get out of here and stop wasting our time."

The other sales assistants joined in, urging Ethan and Alice to leave so they wouldn't affect business.

Shoppers nearby gathered to watch the scene.

Alice's face darkened. "Lily, we are customers!"

"Only paying customers are treated as VIPs. Freeloaders are not welcome here."

Lily turned to one of the assistants,

"Xiao Lan, make sure to sanitize that suit later. We wouldn't want other customers getting a bad impression."

The assistant nodded obediently, "Yes, ma'am."

Alice's face turned red with anger,

"Lily, we don't have any grudges. Why are you treating us like this?"

"Grudge?"

Lily chuckled,

"Don't flatter yourself, Alice. Why would I hold a grudge against you?"

"I'm the manager here, earning a million a year. And you? You're sick, unemployed, and hanging out with Ethan."

She sneered,

"Why would I bother targeting you? You're just a nobody with a victim complex."

"Honestly, if you wanted to buy clothes, this isn't the place for you."

She pointed to the street outside,

"The street market by the East Gate is more suitable. But even those cost over a hundred each."

"If you want to pretend, fine. Since we were classmates, I'll let you pick from last season's clearance items."

Seeing more onlookers gathering, Lily felt even more triumphant,

"Xiao Hong, bring out those leftover clearance pieces."

"Alice, return the suit,"

Ethan's demeanor changed, his usual gentleness replaced by authority.

"We'll buy somewhere else."

Without hesitation, Alice followed his instruction and tossed the suit back.

Lily gestured to the assistant,

"Take it and sanitize it thoroughly."

"Buy somewhere else? You could go to ten different stores and still afford nothing."

The sales assistants and onlookers sneered.

Ethan ignored them and led Alice across to another store—an even larger, more luxurious one: Chanel.

Lily and her team watched in disbelief. If they couldn't afford Urban Beauty, how could they afford Chanel?

Despite overhearing the confrontation, the Chanel assistants maintained professional smiles,

"Hello, sir and madam. How can we assist you today?"

Alice hesitated and tried to leave.

Ethan spoke up,

"Get her size and bring one of every item in the store, including the lingerie."

He tossed his bank card over,

"Remember, I said everything."

"Everything?"

Lily burst out laughing,

"Who does he think he is? A rich heir?"

"If that card goes through, I'll admit defeat."

Even wealthy clients like Alexander wouldn't shop this extravagantly. How could Ethan possibly afford it?

The Urban Beauty staff crossed their arms, waiting to watch the spectacle.

The Chanel assistants hesitated but continued their professional service.

Before long, they packed up ten boxes filled with clothes—totaling twenty million.

Beep—

Ethan swiped his card. Payment approved.

"Ah—"

The entire Chanel store was in an uproar.

The sales assistants looked at Ethan with admiration and at Alice with envy.

No one expected Ethan to spend so lavishly.
