A fatal strike.

Ethan stood before the woman with phoenix eyes. She was still breathing, staring at him intently:

"Who... who are you really..."

She never expected Ethan to be this powerful.

Ethan picked up her dagger. "Any last words?"

The woman spat out blood and died.

Her eyes remained wide open.

As soon as she passed, a black parasite crawled out of her nostrils. Ethan swiftly sliced it in half with a backhanded slash.

"You brat, how dare you kill White Snake? Do you realize you've made an enemy of the Huashan Society?"

Not far away, three enemies glared at Ethan with twisted faces:

"Our Huashan Society will definitely..."

Before they could finish, Ethan snapped the dagger into three pieces.

The next second, the dagger pieces flew through the air with a sharp whistling sound.

The three men instinctively tried to block, but they were too slow, helplessly watching as the dagger pieces pierced their throats.

Blood splattered across the ground.

Without even glancing at them, Ethan walked over to Victor Blacke and began administering treatment.

Lying on the ground, Victor was in shock, struggling to believe what he had just witnessed.

He knew Ethan was capable of taking on a hundred men by himself, but he never imagined that killing White Snake and the others would be as effortless as slicing vegetables.

After all, White Snake was one of the "Three Flowers" nurtured by the Dragon Crossing the River, a top-tier assassin.

Ethan ignored Victor's astonishment. He removed the poisoned arrow from his body and administered a few acupuncture points.

A stream of black blood flowed out.

Ethan then realigned Victor's dislocated arm and casually patted his shoulder.

"The bleeding has stopped, and the poison is expelled. Later, I'll give you a prescription. Rest for a few days, and you'll be fine."

What?

Victor was stunned. The bleeding stopped? The poison expelled?

How was that possible?

With his years of experience in the underworld, he was certain his injuries would take at least three to five months to heal.

But as he watched his wounds slowly close and his arm regain movement, he realized Ethan was telling the truth.

He was dumbfounded.

This level of skill was beyond human capability!

It was ten times more impressive than when Ethan neutralized Blade Fiend's attack or treated Eugene Zacher.

Ethan was not just a miraculous doctor—he was practically a deity.

Victor's eyes sparkled. He had always respected Ethan, but now he genuinely wanted to befriend him.

Not only because Ethan saved his life but also because of his unparalleled medical and martial prowess. Victor could see Ethan's immense potential.

Struggling to his feet, Victor said, "Ethan, no need for formalities. If you ever need anything, just say the word."

"No need to be polite," Ethan replied calmly. "It was nothing. By the way, do you want someone to come pick you up, or will you leave with me?"

"I'll go with you. I'll go with you," Victor quickly answered, glancing around. "This is Genting Mountain, the most dangerous place in ZH City."

He wouldn't have come here if he wasn't absolutely desperate.

Ethan was curious. "The most dangerous place?"

"Genting Mountain is cursed," Victor explained. "Especially the western peak. The Thompson family once built thirty-six villas here, but when they were about to sell them, they discovered corpses in the basements."

"In every one of the thirty-six villas, a coffin was found in the basement, each containing a woman in red..."

Victor shivered as he recounted the tale. "Ethan, let's get out of here before nightfall..."

Before he could finish, he noticed Ethan had already dashed off like a rabbit...

Victor gritted his teeth and hurriedly followed, ignoring his pain.

Night soon engulfed Genting Mountain.

On the way back, Ethan disinfected Victor's wounds before asking, "What exactly happened tonight?"

He looked puzzled. "Who was White Snake?"

"Nine years ago, a man named Dragon Crossing the River came to ZH City," Victor explained without hiding anything. "He was highly skilled, incredibly wealthy, and commanded a band of ruthless followers."

"At first, he played by the rules and paid respect to the local powers. But once he established himself, he became lawless."

"He seized businesses by force, expanded his gambling and drug empire, bribed officials without restraint, and even set up a drug cartel."

"For three years, countless families in ZH City were ruined. The city's underground and legitimate circles were in chaos, forcing many wealthy people and companies to relocate."

"Henry Smith and Ms. Scarlet had enough and joined forces to take down his empire."

"Overnight, Dragon Crossing the River went from a powerful overlord to a prisoner, and out of his five thousand followers, only a handful remained loyal."

"But on the day of his trial, his prison van was ambushed, and he vanished without a trace."

"For six years, there wasn't a single trace of him in ZH City."

"We almost forgot about him, but now he's back with a vengeance."

Victor sighed. "Rumor has it he's back to settle old scores, and he's gathered deadly allies like the Hunter siblings."

Ethan was intrigued. "Why didn't you just kill him? Why go through the trouble of a trial?"

"Kid, if we could've killed him outright, do you think Henry Smith would've tolerated his rampage for two years?"

Victor took a deep breath. "Someone powerful is backing him. That's the only reason he was able to dominate ZH City like that."

"We wanted to execute him, but we couldn't. He was protected by someone influential, so we needed undeniable evidence for a conviction—no vigilante justice allowed."

Ethan narrowed his eyes. "Whoever's behind him must be formidable if you're this cautious."

"Absolutely. But that's not important now because we don't have the means to bring down his backer."

Victor leaned back in his seat. "Our priority is to find and kill Dragon Crossing the River, or else he'll continue to torment us."

"He's playing cat and mouse with us. It's not about killing us; he wants to see us live in fear."

Ethan sighed. "Seems like being a doctor is much easier."

The underworld was vast—and perilous.

Victor laughed, "Once you're in this world, there's no getting out."

Ethan said nothing. If Ms. Scarlet was in danger, he knew he wouldn't be able to stand by.

Shaking his head, he changed the topic, "Victor, should I take you to the Four Seas Chamber of Commerce or the hospital?"

"Take me to Emperor Hall," Victor replied, sitting up straight. He needed to see someone...
