Luna Bright knew Sophia gave Ethan an allowance of $1,000 monthly.
A check for one million was impossible. Sophia didn't even have that much.
Her first thought was the check must be fake.

She scanned the check. It had all the proper seals and no corrections.
The signature was clear and flowed naturally.
Her professional instinct told her the check was real.

The crowd began murmuring after hearing it might be fake.
Ethan calmly said, "The check is real."

"Where did you get this check?" Luna asked, stuffing it into her pocket.
"Did you steal it from the Thompson family?"

She glared at him. "Tell the truth, or I'll call Sophia and report you to the police."
Even if it was real, she was sure it wasn't Ethan's.

More people gathered around to see what was happening.
Hearing a man like Ethan had a million-dollar check caused a stir.
Many whispered and sneered, suspecting he had stolen it.

Some female employees smirked, showing disdain.
They thought he was a freeloader and now a thief.

Ethan's voice deepened. "It's my check."

"Your check?" Luna laughed coldly.
"How could someone like you have a million-dollar check?"

"You must've stolen it," she accused.
"You've committed a crime."

She called Sophia immediately.
"Sophia, come to the bank now. Something's wrong!"

Ethan frowned. "This is nonsense. I need to speak with your manager."

Luna scoffed. "The manager isn't someone you can just demand to see."
She smirked. "Wait till Sophia arrives. She'll deal with you."

In her mind, catching Ethan red-handed would ensure Sophia divorced him.
With Ethan out of the picture, her brother could marry Sophia.

Soon, a red BMW arrived. Sophia stepped out, looking anxious.
She hurried into the bank and spotted Ethan.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, puzzled.

At the same time, Manager Frank Carter appeared, frowning.
"What's going on?" he asked.

Luna quickly answered, "Someone's trying to cash a stolen check."

Frank's expression tightened. "Who stole a check?"

Luna pointed at Ethan. "This man stole a check from the Thompson family!"
She continued, "I've called the owner, and she's here now."

Turning to Sophia, Luna urged, "Call the police. You can divorce him afterward."

Sophia looked confused. "A check?"

Luna held it up. "Yes, for a million dollars!"
She sneered, "He's trying to drain the Thompson family dry."

Sophia took the check and examined it. Her eyes widened in surprise.
"This isn't a check from the Thompson family," she said.

Luna froze, then stammered, "Then he must've stolen it elsewhere."
"Or maybe he found it on the street," she added mockingly.

Ethan met Sophia's gaze calmly. "This isn't stolen or found."
"It's a cash check from Victor Blacke. I helped him, and this is my payment."

Luna scoffed. "What could you help with? Who'd give you a million dollars?"
She mocked, "Maybe they're as clueless as you!"

She paused mid-sentence, her expression changing. "Victor Blacke? The chairman?"

Frank Carter took the check and examined it closely.
"This is indeed Victor Blacke's check. I recognize his signature," he confirmed.

Sophia nodded slightly. "Ethan and Mr. Blacke do have a connection."

Luna was stunned. "You had the nerve to steal from him?"

"I told you, it's payment for helping him," Ethan said evenly.
"If you doubt it, call him."

Frank hesitated but eventually dialed Victor Blacke.
After the call, he looked embarrassed. "Mr. Ethan, I apologize for the misunderstanding."

He turned to Luna. "Apologize to him immediately."

Luna's face turned pale. "It's true?" she whispered.

Frank's voice rose. "Apologize now!"

Reluctantly, Luna muttered, "I'm sorry."

Ethan smirked. "You insulted me, accused me, and dragged Sophia into this.
Is that all you have to say?"

Luna bristled. "Don't push it, Ethan."

Sophia stepped in. "Ethan, it's a misunderstanding. Let it go."

Ethan ignored her. "If she doesn't own up, she should be fired."

Luna sneered. "Fire me? Who do you think you are?"

Frank hesitated. Victor Blacke might have respected Ethan, but firing Luna was different.
The bank had more business with the Frost family than with Victor Blacke.

Frank smiled awkwardly. "Mr. Ethan, let's not escalate this. I can't do that."

Luna smirked triumphantly. "See? You're nobody, Ethan."

Ethan smiled faintly. "Is Victor Blacke's influence not enough?"

Frank remained silent.

Ethan pulled out another check. "How about this?"

He handed over a $5 million check from Dr. Sun's clinic.

Frank's face shifted.

Ethan then revealed a third check. "Still not enough? Here's more."

This time, it was a $10 million check from Aurora Group.

Frank was speechless, realizing Ethan had ties to some of their biggest clients.
These connections represented billions in transactions annually.

Suddenly, Frank turned to Luna and slapped her.
"You're fired!" he shouted.
