Since graduating this year, Ethan had been either busy with his mother's illness or serving the Thompson family, and hadn't found a job. So he was still unemployed.

"After my mother's surgery, I will find a job immediately. I can definitely pay you back."

Ethan felt so ashamed that he wanted to run away. But at this point, he had to persevere.

"Isabella, please. My mother needs surgery. She really needs this money..."

At this moment, Ethan felt as lowly as a dog.

Lily scoffed, "We're not your parents. Your mother needs money for surgery. What does it have to do with us?"

"Isabella, help me." Ethan begged Isabella. "I will pay you back the money."

Everyone looked at Isabella.

Isabella looked at Ethan coldly and said in an even colder tone, words that chilled Ethan's heart.

"Asking me to borrow money? Don't you think it...

Ethan's knees hit the floor with a thud. His knees hurt, but his heart ached even more. But for his mother, he had no hesitation.

"Hahaha—" Lily and the others laughed shrilly. They couldn't believe that Ethan, who was known for his stubborn pride, would kneel in front of them like this.

Someone took out their phone to take a picture of this scene.

Isabella raised her snow-white chin, as proud as a princess, her look of contempt even stronger. What a spineless man, she thought.

Alexander went to the restroom and came back with a cup filled with a yellow liquid. Then he slammed it on the table in front of Ethan.

"Kneel and drink it," Alexander said as he threw out a bank card. "This hundred thousand is for you."

Looking at the cup of liquid, Ethan was stunned for a moment, then furious. It was urine!

"You bastards!" Ethan threw the cup at them. "You've gone too far!"

Isabella and Lily screamed as they were splattered with the liquid.

Alexander flew into a rage and ordered, "Beat him!"

Ethan turned and ran.

Seven or eight spoiled youths rushed forward.

Outnumbered, Ethan was quickly beaten down. He leaned against the wall, his hands tightly protecting his head.

He had no feeling in his hands, just instinctively protecting his head.

His head was protected, but other parts of his body couldn't be. After taking a few heavy punches, Ethan started to bleed.

Isabella and Lily cheered. In their eyes, Ethan's resistance was an act of rebellion, and he deserved this fate.

"A loser!" Alexander stepped on Ethan's head.

"Bang—" Ethan's hands, which had been tightly protecting his head, finally loosened, and his whole body slid weakly down the wall. He passed out.

A pool of blood flowed from his palm, seeping into the ancient Taiji jade...

"Whoosh—"
