At 5:30 p.m., in front of Titan Company, traffic was bustling.
Although it was already late afternoon, the heat in ZH City was still oppressive.
Thirty meters away from the company, under the shade of a big tree, Ethan sat astride his motorcycle, humming the theme song of "The Bund" while eating an ice cream.
Occasionally, he would glance at the time and the traffic lights.
He took big bites of his ice cream, each bite noticeably reducing its size, showing off his strong teeth.
At 5:45, Ethan spotted a black Mercedes in his line of sight.
License plate: ZH A16888.
Ethan squinted and recognized it as Vincent Bright's car.
Inside the car, besides the driver, were Vincent Bright, his sister Luna Bright, and Sophia.
Ethan's gaze turned cold. He quickly finished the ice cream and tossed the wrapper into the trash can.
Then, he picked up a black plastic bag from beside his foot. Inside was a black box, but its contents were unclear.
Ethan hung the plastic bag on the front of his motorcycle and put on the red helmet he bought yesterday.
At this moment, the Mercedes was making a left turn, preparing to enter Titan Company.
"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five..."
Ethan counted down calmly. When he reached zero, the red light turned green.
The Mercedes was just finishing its turn.
"Vroom—"
Almost simultaneously, Ethan revved the engine, and his second-hand motorcycle shot out like a bullet.
The next second, a loud bang echoed as he crashed into the rear of the Mercedes.
A dent instantly appeared on the trunk, which popped open, revealing several boxes inside.
The motorcycle flipped in midair, its headlight shattered, and its bumper broke off. The black plastic bag hanging on the front also burst open.
A heap of porcelain shards spilled out from the box and bag, scattering all over the place.
The scene was chaotic.
Yet, Ethan was completely unscathed. When the motorcycle hit the car, he had leaped off and landed on the right side of the Mercedes.
He patted his chest, feigning fear.
"You idiot! How do you even drive?"
Luna Bright was the first to jump out, angrily pointing at Ethan and shouting, "How could you crash into us from so far away?"
Vincent Bright and Sophia also got out of the car.
"Ethan?"
When Ethan took off his helmet, Sophia was surprised. "What are you doing here?"
Ethan glanced at Sophia. "If I weren't here, how could I witness you all being so chummy?"
"You're overthinking it."
Sophia blushed and explained, "We went to meet a client..."
"Meet a client?"
Ethan retorted bluntly, "Do you really not know why he's doing all this for you?"
Sophia was stunned. She knew very well why a billionaire heir would spend all his time introducing clients to her.
But being scolded by her husband in public embarrassed her, and she snapped, "What are you implying, Ethan?"
"Nothing."
Ethan took a deep breath to calm himself. "Just a reminder: if you're planning to cheat on me, let's get a divorce first."
Sophia's face turned pale. "You—"
"So it's you, you loser."
Luna Bright recognized Ethan and scoffed, "No wonder you crashed into us from so far away. You're just jealous."
"But what's there to be jealous of?"
She continued mockingly, "We all know about your little stunt last time. Borrowing cars and diamonds just to show off. Do you think pretending to be rich is impressive?"
"Don't you realize that borrowed things need to be returned?"
She sneered at Ethan, "You're useless. How dare you be jealous of Sophia?"
"Luna!"
Sophia shook her head. "Don't talk to Ethan like that."
Turning to Vincent, she said, "I'll pay for the damages."
She looked at Ethan. "You should head home. I'll take care of this."
She initially wanted to scold Ethan for his clumsy mistake, but seeing his gloomy face, she held back her words.
Besides, she felt guilty about the incident with the clinic.
Last night, in a moment of anger, she used her connections to shut down Ethan's clinic. But after investigating today, she realized the clinic belonged to Adrian Whitehead, having nothing to do with Ethan.
Sophia realized that Ethan had lied out of pride, pretending to own the clinic.
This also explained why Martin Fletcher and his team couldn't shut down the clinic; it didn't legally belong to Ethan.
Feeling both angry at his lie and guilty for her impulsiveness, she added softly, "Be more careful next time."
"Forget it. It's just a minor issue. Insurance will cover it."
Vincent Bright looked at Sophia tenderly. "Besides, if I wanted someone to pay, it wouldn't be you."
He glared at Ethan. "Consider yourself lucky that Sophia spoke up for you. Otherwise, you'd be selling your blood to pay for this."
Unwilling to let it go, Luna Bright kicked the shattered box and scoffed, "Relying on a woman to clean up your mess. What a loser."
After that, the three of them turned to leave, instructing the driver to call the insurance company.
Ethan spoke coldly, "Who gave you permission to leave?"
Sophia frowned. "Ethan, I'm solving this for you. What more do you want?"
Vincent Bright glared at him. "You're pushing your luck, aren't you?"
Ethan's voice was icy, "You crash into someone's vehicle, don't apologize, don't offer compensation, and think you can just walk away? Do you own the traffic police?"
"Enough already!"
Sophia was furious. "If you keep making trouble, I won't help you anymore."
Vincent sneered, "You want an apology? You want compensation?"
"Can you even afford it? In the end, you'll just use Sophia's money."
Luna Bright pulled out her phone excitedly. "I'm calling the traffic police right now."
"Vincent, have you ever studied traffic rules?"
Ethan said calmly, "Turning vehicles must yield to oncoming traffic. You were turning, and I was going straight. You blocked my way. You're fully responsible for the accident."
"You must compensate me for all my losses."
His words were shocking.
