A/N Just to clarify for this one I have no clue what type of a person Xavier Worthy is in real life but I googled Kansas City Chiefs' rookies since I don't know much about the Chiefs aside from the basics. I'm going to write him in a bad light but remember. IT IS ALL FICTION. I IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM DID MY RESEARCH ABOUT THIS MAN. I have an idea in my head but needed to make up someone to do it and Xavier seems like a good enough name to me.
Don't worry I'll still do my other ideas I listed in the last chapter
Last chapter I had a vent so if any of you want to trauma dump or have a vent you can do it here and I'll respond with some big sister advice even tho I'm probably younger than you xxx
How would you guys feel if I went back and edited some of my more recent chapters so they're a bit better or should I just leave them as they are?
also tay is preggo in this just because :)
THERE WILL BE OTHER PARTS TO THIS
Travis' POV
I'm on my way home from the store when I see an incoming call. Who could that be? Not Tay, she's probably fast asleep at home. I don't recognise the number but open the call anyway. I swear if my phone number got leaked..."Hey is this Travis Kelce?" I hear a vaguely familiar male voice through the car speakers.
"Uh yeah, who is this?"
"It's Xavier I'm one of the rookies this year I got your number from Coach Reid I need something and he said you're the perfect man to help me out"
Oh. I recognise the voice now. He's not a bad player. I haven't really spoken to many of the newbies much something Big Red's been picking me up on but I know this guy got drafted Round 1 so he's legit.
"Oh yeah. Hey dude what's up?"
"Can I ask for a big favour?" he says.
No. I want to say. I know all too well how football players "favours" can end up going but that's for another time.
"Depends" I say lightly trying to play it cool and laugh a bit, "What do you need?"
"Well since I'm not that rich from football yet I've been renting a place and I just got evicted and need somewhere to go and was wondering if you might have a spare room?" he adds the last bit nervously.
I feel like I know exactly why he got evicted. I mainly hang out with some of the more experienced players who I've known for a while but it'd take more than a deaf man not to hear Andy shout at the kid for partying and showing up to practice late. I want to tell him to go away and grow up and sort out his own problems but a part of me sees where he's coming from too.
I was a rookie in the Chiefs once too and it took a number of nudges in the right direction before I turned into a partyholic straight out of college to a good football player who got places on time and maybe an older player helping him in the direction is what he needs. And just what I need to get in Coach's good books again.
"Fine" I say reluctantly, "I'll come pick you up and take you there"
"Really?" he says almost ecstatic with the news.
I'm regretting it already.
Still, I drive around to the estate he's at and can tell it's definitely a party neighbourhood. I can see through windows trash littered everywhere and people crashed out at noon. It feels familiar almost so I grit my teeth and open the car door.
Xavier climbs in with a twinkle in his eyes as I start the engine determined to get of this neighbourhood as soon as possible.
The drive back to my house is about 35 minutes and Xavier is almost too eager to break the silence, to ask questions.
