LESS THAN A WEEK TILL CHRISTMAS

IM NOT THE BEST AT WRITING THIS SORT OF THING SO EXCUSE ME IF ITS BAD

Taylor's POV

The room felt like a dream. Candlelight flickered against the high ceilings, casting a warm glow over the hundreds of faces gathered to celebrate with us. But for me, they all blurred into the background. There was only one person who mattered tonight, and he was standing in front of me, his hand warm and steady against mine.

Our first dance.

"You ready, Mrs. Kelce?" Travis whispered, his voice low and soft, just for me.

My chest tightened at the sound of it—Mrs. Kelce. It still felt surreal, like the kind of thing I'd write about in my songs but never actually live.

"I think so," I said, smiling up at him.

He grinned, his dimple flashing. "Good, because I'm terrible at this, and you're gonna need to carry the team."

I laughed, squeezing his hand. "You? Terrible at dancing? I don't believe it."

"Hey, I can two-step with the best of them," he said. "But this? This is fancy."

The music started before I could tease him more—a gentle piano melody, slow and romantic. It was the opening notes of "Lover," the song we'd chosen for this moment. My heart swelled as the familiar chords filled the room, and Travis pulled me into him, one hand on my waist, the other holding mine.

Travis's POV

I don't think I've ever been this nervous in my life—not during the Super Bowl, not during any high-stakes game. But standing here with Taylor in my arms, knowing every single person in this room was watching us? Yeah, my palms were sweating.

But then she looked at me, her blue eyes sparkling like the stars outside, and everything else faded away.

"You're doing great," she said, her voice soothing.

"I've only taken two steps," I muttered, making her laugh.

"That's two steps closer to nailing it," she teased, her fingers brushing against my shoulder.

I couldn't help but smile. Taylor had this way of making everything feel easy, even when it wasn't.

As we moved across the floor, I felt myself relax. The music wrapped around us like a warm blanket, and I focused on her—the way her dress flowed like a dream, the way her hair framed her face, the way her smile made me feel like the luckiest guy in the world.

Taylor's POV

Travis wasn't kidding when he said he wasn't the best dancer, but honestly? It didn't matter. He moved with me like he was afraid to let go, his touch gentle but firm, and every step we took felt like a promise.

I rested my head against his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. It was grounding, comforting, a reminder that this wasn't just a moment—it was the start of everything.

"You know," I murmured, "I used to dream about this."

"Dancing with me?" he teased, his voice playful.

"Having someone who made me feel like this," I said, looking up at him. "Safe. Loved. Completely myself."

His expression softened, and he leaned down to kiss my forehead. "You deserve all of that and more, Tay."

The chorus of "Lover" swelled around us, and the room seemed to hold its breath.

"Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close forever and ever?"

The lyrics felt like they'd been written for this exact moment, and I couldn't help but smile as Travis mouthed the words along with the song.

Travis's POV

I didn't know how to say everything I was feeling, so I let the music do it for me. Every word of that song, every note, felt like it was written for us. For her.

"Have I mentioned you look incredible tonight?" I asked, spinning her gently.

She laughed, her cheeks turning pink. "Maybe once or twice."

"Well, it's worth saying again," I said. "You're absolutely stunning, Taylor."

"Flattery will get you everywhere, Mr. Kelce," she said, her smile mischievous.

By the time the song ended, I didn't want to let go. I wanted to stay in this moment forever, just me and her, dancing like the rest of the world didn't exist.

But when the music faded and the applause erupted around us, I realised something.

This wasn't the end of the moment. It was the beginning of all the ones to come.

Taylor's POV

As the cheers echoed through the room, Travis leaned down and whispered in my ear, "So, how'd I do?"

I smiled, my heart so full it felt like it might burst. "Perfect," I said. "Just like you."

And as he kissed me, the room disappeared again, leaving only us, wrapped in a love that felt as timeless as the song we'd just danced to.

A/N I need to get better at subtle taylor references lol

Should I start a new book and if so should it be a tayvis au or a tayvis baby story or what?
