A/N I swear if Taylor and Travis had a child the birth of it would be more anticipated than the birth of Jesus lol
Taylor's POV
The living room glowed softly with the light of the Christmas tree, its twinkling ornaments casting shadows on the walls. Pine and cinnamon filled the air, courtesy of the candles I'd lit an hour ago, and the faint hum of White Christmas played from the speakers. Travis was stretched out on the couch, legs sprawled across the ottoman, looking entirely too pleased with himself for someone wearing reindeer pyjama pants.
"Last Christmas as a twosome," I teased, resting my hand on my belly.
He turned his head to grin at me. "You make it sound like we're never going to hang out again after the baby comes."
"You think we'll have time to hang out? I've seen how babies work, Kelce. They're tiny, adorable tyrants."
"Adorable being the key word." His grin softened, and his gaze dropped to my belly. "You nervous?"
I shrugged, trying to seem casual, even though my heart was racing. "A little. Okay, maybe a lot. What if the baby doesn't like Christmas? What if we screw up? What if—"
Travis interrupted by placing his warm hand over mine. "Tay, you've already written the best Christmas song of all time. You're practically the holiday queen. Our kid's going to love Christmas because you love it. And as for screwing up? We'll figure it out together. That's what we do."
I leaned my head against his shoulder, letting his words calm me. "You're too good at this. It's almost suspicious."
"Just wait," he said, smirking. "I'll be a disaster during the diaper stage. You'll think I'm good at everything until I'm knee-deep in baby wipes and crying in the corner."
"Maybe we'll film it for posterity," I teased, earning a mock scowl from him.
I felt a sharp pang low in my abdomen, and my breath hitched.
"You okay?" Travis asked, instantly alert.
"Braxton Hicks," I said quickly, even though I wasn't totally sure. "Totally normal."
He frowned, clearly not convinced, but let it go when I gave him a reassuring pat.
------------
The front door swung open, letting in a rush of cold air and the sound of happy voices. Donna Kelce was the first to appear, her arms full of wrapped presents, followed closely by Jason and Kylie, who were juggling their excited kids and more gifts than seemed necessary.
"Merry Christmas Eve!" Donna announced, pulling me into a warm hug before eyeing my belly with a knowing look. "How are you feeling, sweetheart?"
"Good! Just waddling my way through the season," I said, laughing.
Jason placed a hand on his hip and grinned. "Baby Swift-Kelce gonna make an appearance tonight? You know we've got bets on this."
"Jason!" Donna scolded, swatting at him, but Kylie just rolled her eyes.
"Don't listen to him," she said, hugging me tightly. "You're glowing. You're going to do great, whenever it happens."
The kids, Wyatt and Elliotte, darted around the living room, squealing with excitement when they spotted the towering Christmas tree. Travis helped them find their stockings while Donna busied herself setting the dinner table.
Midway through the night, I felt another contraction—this one stronger than before. I pressed my hand to my belly and tried to breathe through it.
"You okay, babe?" Travis asked quietly, his hand brushing mine under the table.
