Sliding Into My DM's

Travis' POV:

I was just sitting on the couch, scrolling mindlessly through Instagram, probably for the third time in an hour, when a little notification popped up at the top of my screen. You know that moment when you see something, but your brain takes a second to process it? Yeah, that was me.

Because the notification didn't just say anything—it said: "Taylor Swift sent you a message."

Wait, what?

I blinked. Rubbed my eyes. Looked again. Yup. It was still there.

I sat up so fast I nearly knocked over the drink sitting next to me. THE Taylor Swift? Sending me a DM? Is this a prank? I mean, I did go on my little podcast rant about how I tried to give her a friendship bracelet and how it didn't work out, but this can't be real.

I clicked on the notification, my heart beating like it was 4th-and-goal at the Super Bowl. And there it was. A message from Taylor. THE Taylor Swift

"Hey, I heard you tried to give me a friendship bracelet. Sorry I missed it! Thought I'd reach out to say hi."

WHAT!?

I stared at my phone for a solid 10 seconds, trying to figure out if this was real life or if I'd somehow accidentally fallen asleep watching her music videos again. What do I even say to that? Hey, no big deal, just trying to shoot my shot in front of the entire stadium, it's cool.

I swear, I sat there drafting, deleting, and redrafting my response like some nervous high schooler texting their crush for the first time. I mean, what do you even say to someone like Taylor Swift? But this was it. My chance. I couldn't blow it.

Taylor's POV:

I was at home, cozied up with my cats, when I remembered the story I'd heard about Travis Kelce trying to give me a friendship bracelet at one of my shows. It was so sweet, and honestly, kind of funny. The whole thing had gone viral, and I couldn't help but feel bad that we missed each other. So, naturally, I did what anyone would do—I slid into his DMs. Casual, right?

I wasn't expecting a response right away, so I put my phone down and went about my evening. But then, barely five minutes later, I saw the little notification. I picked up my phone, smiling a little to myself, curious about how he'd respond.

"Wait, are you actually Taylor Swift? Or is this one of those pranks where someone's pretending to be you? Because if it is, that's honestly cruel. If it's really you... hi."

I couldn't help but laugh out loud. This was going to be fun.

Travis' POV:

Okay, so maybe accusing her of being a catfish wasn't my best opener. But hey, I panicked! What was I supposed to say?

My phone buzzed again, and I opened it, heart pounding.

taylorswift
"I assure you, I'm really me. I'm not cool enough to have someone pretend to be me."

I laughed out loud. Oh, she's funny. I love this.

I couldn't help but grin like an idiot. I mean, who wouldn't? This was Taylor Swift, and she was messaging me. This wasn't real life, right?

killatrav
"Okay, okay. So, are you saying we can trade friendship bracelets now, or do I need to wait for the next concert?"

Taylor's POV:

He was actually pretty charming. I'd heard plenty about Travis Kelce—the larger-than-life, confident football star—but in our DMs, he seemed more like a normal guy who was just as nervous as anyone else would be.

I smiled, thinking about his question.

taylorswift
"I think we can skip the stadium next time and maybe meet up somewhere a little more... chill?"

Travis' POV:

I nearly dropped my phone. Did she just... suggest a hangout?

I mean, I could play it cool. Act like this wasn't the wildest thing that's ever happened to me. But let's be real: there was no chance I was playing it cool. Not with THE Taylor Swift. I was pacing around my living room like I just scored a game-winning touchdown.

killatrav
"Are you asking me out? 'Cause I don't want to get this wrong and mess it up."

Taylor's POV:

I laughed again, shaking my head. He was cute, even through the screen. This was going to be interesting.

taylorswift
"Let's just say I'm open to friendship bracelets and... whatever else comes with them."

I could practically feel his excitement through the phone. This was the beginning of something—something fun, at least. And maybe more.

Travis' POV:

I sat back on the couch, grinning from ear to ear. Well, that went way better than I expected. I mean, what were the odds that a silly story about a friendship bracelet would lead to this? All I know is, I'm definitely not deleting this conversation anytime soon.

Taylor Swift just slid into my DMs. And she's open to more than just friendship bracelets. Alright Na.
