A/N This was a request xx
Travis' POV
"I'm just heading out with the guys for a bit, babe," I said, grabbing my keys and throwing on a jacket.
Taylor was perched on the couch, her legs tucked under her, scrolling through something on her phone. She looked up and gave me this half-smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.
"Have fun," she said sweetly. Too sweetly.
I hesitated. That tone was usually code for something deeper, but I figured I was reading too much into it. Taylor's moods could swing faster than my offensive plays, but I didn't sense a full blitz coming.
"I'll be back by midnight," I said, leaning over to kiss her on the head. She didn't pull away, but her eyes followed me all the way out the door.
The air felt a little tense, but I brushed it off. I hopped into my car—a sleek black SUV that Taylor had actually picked out for me—and started the engine. The group chat was already lighting up with messages from the guys, and I was looking forward to some stress-free laughs.
Then the flashing lights appeared behind me.
Taylor's POV
I knew it was a little dramatic, but I couldn't help myself.
When Travis had mentioned going out with his friends, I felt that twinge of insecurity I thought I'd gotten over. It wasn't that I didn't trust him—I did—but I didn't trust the women out there who might bat their eyelashes at him, knowing full well he was taken.
So, I did what any reasonable person wouldn't do: I called the cops and reported his car stolen.
At least I didn't decide to play no body no crime through CarPlay as it happened.
I didn't think they'd actually find him though. I just figured it'd slow him down and maybe make him rethink going out. But when I saw a notification pop up on my phone that his car had been pulled over, my heart dropped.
Travis' POV
"License and registration," the officer said, his flashlight shining into my car.
"Yeah, of course," I said, reaching for my glove compartment. "Is there a problem, officer?"
The cop shifted, glancing down at the notebook in his hand. "We got a report that this car was stolen."
I froze. "Stolen? That's impossible. This is my car."
"Are you sure about that?" the cop asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Yes!" I said, starting to panic. "It's registered in my name! My girlfriend literally picked it out for me!"
The officer raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything as he went back to his patrol car.
I sat there, drumming my fingers on the steering wheel, trying to figure out what the hell was going on. And then it hit me.
Taylor Alison Swift.
Taylor's POV
The call came sooner than I expected.
"Taylor," Travis said, his voice low and calm in a way that told me he was not calm. "Did you report my car as stolen?"
I winced, clutching my phone. "I might've... mentioned something to the authorities."
"Why?" he asked, his voice rising slightly. "Why would you do that? Do you have any idea how embarrassing this is? I'm sitting here on the side of the road like a criminal!"
"I didn't think they'd actually stop you!" I blurted out. "I just—" I hesitated, biting my lip. "I didn't want anyone... looking at you."
There was a long pause.
"Are you serious right now?" he said finally.
Travis' POV
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"You called the cops on me because you didn't want other women looking at me?" I asked, trying to wrap my head around it.
"Yes," she said quietly.
I exhaled, leaning back in my seat. Part of me wanted to be mad, but the other part—the bigger part—just found it ridiculous. And honestly, kind of funny. And I am totally ready to get my revenge and talk about this on the pod.
The officer came back to my window. "You're good to go," he said, handing me back my license. "We sorted it out. Have a good night, Mr. Kelce."
"Thanks," I said, shaking my head as he walked away.
As I pulled back onto the road, I put Taylor on speaker.
"Babe, you owe me big time for this one," I said. "You realise that, right?"
"I'll bake you cookies," she offered quickly.
"Cookies? You think cookies are gonna make up for this?"
"Brownies, too?"
I sighed, trying not to laugh. "We're gonna talk about this when I get home. And you're lucky you're cute."
Taylor's POV
When Travis walked through the door that night, he was still shaking his head, but there was a hint of a smile on his face.
"You are out of your mind, Swift" he said, dropping his keys on the counter.
"I know," I said, standing up to meet him. "I'm sorry. I just—"
"Didn't want anyone looking at me," he finished for me, pulling me into a hug. "You know you're the only person I see, right?"
"I know," I said softly, burying my face in his chest.
He sighed dramatically. "This is gonna make a great story for the podcast."
I groaned. "Travis, no!"
"Oh, it's happening," he said, laughing as he kissed the top of my head. "You can't stop me."
And just like that, we were okay.
