Taylor's POV

The house was glowing. Strings of fairy lights framed the windows, a cozy fire crackled in the fireplace, and the faint hum of Christmas carols played softly in the background. Tonight wasn't just any gathering—it was the gathering.

Trav and I had invited Gigi, Abigail, our moms, Blake, Ryan and Hugh round for some dinner.

It was nice seeing everyone there all together especially considering how hard it normally is to get them all in one place.

Everyone, except one little person.

"Where's Ella?" I asked, looking around for our six-year-old daughter.

"She's upstairs," Travis said, stepping beside me with a knowing look. "Said she needed a minute. You know how she gets when there's a big crowd."

I nodded. Ella had always been a little shy, a lot sensitive, and completely attached to Travis. Tonight, we were about to tell everyone that her days as an only child—and Daddy's sole princess—were numbered.

"You think she's okay?" I asked.

"She'll be fine," he said, squeezing my hand. "She just needs time to process."

I wanted to believe him, but there was a flicker of worry in the back of my mind. Still, tonight was about joy and celebration, and I wouldn't let my nerves ruin it.

Travis' POV

I watched Taylor flit around the room, greeting our guests, her excitement bubbling over. She looked stunning—glowing, really—and not just because of the pregnancy.

But my eyes kept darting to the staircase, half expecting to see Ella's tiny face peeking out from the railing. She hadn't been thrilled when we'd told her about the baby earlier this week. Actually, "thrilled" was an understatement—she was mad.
