Taylor's POV
The second I hit "post" on Instagram, I knew I had just caused absolute chaos.
The first photo was pure perfection—Travis, the 6'5" football superstar, sitting cross-legged in the middle of our living room, wearing a pink tutu over his sweatpants, a plastic tiara tilted slightly on his head, and fairy wings strapped to his back. His giant hands delicately held a tiny teacup as our nieces giggled around him. The next few slides included a full glam session (blue sparkly eyeshadow smeared across his lids), an intense round of "Princess vs. Dragon" where he was obviously the princess, and the pièce de résistance—Travis, mid-spin, arms outstretched, fully committing to his princess persona.
The caption? Princess Traviana has arrived. Super Bowl champ by day, fairy queen by night. 👑✨
The moment the post went live, my phone exploded.
"Oh, hell no," Travis groaned from the couch.
I turned to find him scrolling through his phone, his eyebrows furrowed as he skimmed the comments.
"'Bro, you good?'" he read out loud. "'We're witnessing the downfall of a once-great man.' Oh, come on!" He shot me a betrayed look. "You did this to me."
I tried so hard to keep a straight face, but I was already biting my lip to hold back a laugh. "You did willingly put on the tutu," I pointed out.
"For the kids, Tay. For the kids!" He threw his phone down dramatically, dragging a hand over his face. "I'm never living this down."
"Oh, definitely not." I smirked. "Patrick just texted me 'RIP Travis' with about twenty crying-laughing emojis."
Travis' phone buzzed again, and he squinted at it. "Oh, great, Pat just dropped this in the team group chat." He turned his phone so I could see the message:
Patrick Mahomes: "Bro, I hope this is how you're planning to show up to training camp. The tutu is a strong look."
I lost it. I doubled over, laughing so hard my stomach hurt.
Travis shook his head in mock betrayal. "I can't believe I'm being cyberbullied in my own home."
"You love it," I teased, sliding onto the couch beside him. "And you love that the girls had the best time ever."
He sighed dramatically but pulled me into his lap, resting his chin on my shoulder. "Yeah, yeah," he grumbled. "But now the whole world thinks I moonlight as a Disney princess."
"Would that be so bad?" I teased, running my fingers through his curls. "I mean, you could totally be the next Cinderella."
Travis pulled back slightly, pretending to be deep in thought. "I do have the bone structure for it."
I giggled, leaning into him.
His phone buzzed again. He groaned before glancing at it, then immediately closed his eyes like he was in pain.
"Let me guess," I said, already grinning.
"Jason," he muttered, handing me the phone.
I took one look and burst out laughing.
Jason Kelce: "I KNEW IT. YOU WERE MEANT TO BE A PRINCESS. MOM IS GONNA FRAME THIS."
"Oh, I love your family," I giggled, nudging him.
Travis groaned dramatically, burying his face in my shoulder. "This is the worst day of my life."
I smiled, rubbing my fingers along the nape of his neck. "Oh, really?"
"Really," he grumbled.
I took a deep breath, knowing this was the perfect moment. "Well... I do have one more surprise for you."
Travis lifted his head slightly, eyeing me suspiciously. "If it's another picture, I swear—"
I shook my head, my heart pounding. "No, it's not that."
His expression softened when he noticed how serious I looked. "What is it, babe?"
I swallowed hard, then slowly reached into my pocket, pulling out a small white stick.
Travis stared at it for a second. Then another. Then—
His entire face changed.
His eyes flicked between the pregnancy test and me, his lips parting slightly like he couldn't quite believe what he was seeing.
"Tay..." His voice was barely a whisper.
I nodded, my throat tight. "I'm pregnant."
For a split second, he just froze. And then—
"NO WAY!"
Travis practically launched off the couch, nearly knocking me over in the process. He ran both hands through his hair, his face breaking into the biggest grin I'd ever seen.
"Are you serious?" he choked out.
I laughed through my happy tears. "Very serious."
Travis let out a whoop so loud I was pretty sure our neighbours could hear it. Then he grabbed me, lifting me right off the couch, spinning me around as I squealed.
"WE'RE HAVING A BABY!" he yelled, still spinning.
I giggled, holding onto him tightly. "Yes, Princess Traviana, we're having a baby."
He froze mid-spin, setting me down so quickly I almost stumbled. "Oh my god," he whispered, wide-eyed. "The baby is gonna see those pictures one day."
I snorted. "Oh, definitely."
Travis stared at me for a beat before breaking into a lopsided grin. "Welp. Guess I better embrace my destiny." He straightened, adjusting an invisible crown. "From this day forward, I vow to be the best dad and the best princess this world has ever seen."
I laughed, wrapping my arms around his neck. "You're already both."
He beamed down at me, pressing his forehead against mine. "I love you, Tay."
"I love you too, Trav."
