Taylor's POV

I wasn't the jealous type. Really, I wasn't.

Okay, fine. Maybe I was a little bit of the jealous type, but could you blame me? I was watching my very large, very charming, very hot boyfriend laughing with one of the Kansas City Chiefs' cheerleaders like she was the funniest person he'd ever met. The two of them stood a few feet away from where I was waiting for Travis to finish up his post-practice routine, and as I tapped my fingers against my thigh, I tried very hard to be cool about it.

She touched his arm.

Oh, hell no.

My spine straightened so fast it was a miracle I didn't pull a muscle. That was my man. My 6'5", broad-shouldered, ridiculously charismatic boyfriend. And she was touching his arm like he wasn't already very publicly, very obviously in a committed relationship with me.

I knew I was being ridiculous. He wasn't doing anything wrong. But logic had *never* been my strongest suit when it came to emotions. I was a songwriter, for crying out loud. My entire career was built on *feeling things too deeply*.

Still, I didn't want to cause a scene. I wasn't some insecure girlfriend who couldn't handle her boyfriend talking to other women. I trusted him.

But I also had my limits.

"Hey, Tay, you ready to go?"

Travis' voice snapped me out of my spiral. I blinked, realising that the conversation between him and the cheerleader had ended at some point, and he was now walking toward me with his usual easy smile. I plastered on my best nonchalant expression, crossing my arms as he approached.

"Yeah, sure," I said, tilting my chin up. "Have a nice conversation?"

His brows furrowed slightly, like he wasn't sure what I was getting at. "Uh, yeah? Just catching up with Elena. She's been on the squad for a while."

"Oh, Elena "I repeated, nodding. "Right. Elena."

Travis gave me a look, one I'd seen before—the 'why are you acting weird?' look. I probably should have just let it go, but I'd already committed to this particular brand of pettiness, and I wasn't backing down now.
