Travis' POV
I stormed out of the room mumbling something about going to bed. I left the facility late tonight. Well, late in my books probably not late in that little bitch's.
I can hear Taylor excusing herself and running up the stairs.
She walks in closing the door behind her finding me banging my head cursing his name.
She pulls me away.
"Travis" she exclaims.
Then seeing the look in my eyes she changes it to a more concerned tone.
"Did I do something wrong?" she says.
"No baby. It's not you" I say reassuring her.
"Then what's going on?" she asks me.
I sit down on the bed and beckon her to come join me. She rests her head on my shoulder and I put an arm round her.
"He-" I try to get out. I don't want to put this on Taylor. She's had enough of being sexualised for years this is the last thing she needs. "He was calling you sexy and stuff saying you were on the market and he looked up your skirt and I don't want him here but Andy is making me and I honestly want to kill him right now" I say being completely transparent and honest with her.
"I'm sorry it's my fault" she says.
What?
"I shouldn't have worn this outfit. It's my fault. I just didn't think anyone would be here otherwise I would have covered-"
I stop her there.
"Babe it's not your fault. He thought that before anyways and while I think anyone would be crazy not to the reason I'm mad is cause you're mine. You're my lady. And I need you"
She smiles and presses her lips to mine.
"Now let me go downstairs and tell that idiot where he has to sleep and I'll get you some chicken tenders and we can watch a movie then I will go on the phone after the game tomorrow and plead my case to Andy to get him away promise."
Okay she smiles before laying down on the bed and grabbing a blanket.
I walk downstairs and up to Xavier.
"Hey" he says smirking.
I roll my eyes at him.
"Look dude. I know you think you're all that but you aren't. All you're doing is scaring that woman who by the way is way out of both of our leagues. You take another step towards her and I will ruin your entire fucking life. At football, I might act like Mr Nice Guy but I have connections and I will personally kill you myself until you never see the light of day again."
"Not gonna lie you just sound a bit jealous right now" he says.
I turn around and punch him right in his jaw.
I smile as he clutches his face and as I turn around I let him know to stay in the room furthest away from me and my wife.
The next day
Taylor's POV
I say bye to Britt as she heads back home from the bar. Yet another win for the Chiefs and us and the whole team are out celebrating. We're only one game away from qualifying for the Super Bowl and I really want this for Trav.
I felt it before I realised what was going on—a strange movement behind me, someone too close for comfort. I turned, and my stomach sank as I saw a guy crouched slightly, his phone angled awkwardly toward the hem of my dress.
My blood ran cold.
Xavier.
"Excuse me? What the hell are you doing?" I snapped, stepping back and yanking my dress down instinctively.
He stumbled to his feet, his face twisting into a smug grin. "Relax, sweetheart. It's just a picture."
I froze, equal parts furious and mortified. Before I could respond, a shadow loomed behind me.
Travis' POV
I'd just grabbed Taylor's soda and my beer when I glanced back at our group and noticed her stiff posture. Something was off. Her smile was gone, replaced by an expression I'd seen only a handful of times: anger mixed with hurt.
I pushed through the crowd, my eyes locking on the guy standing too close to her. This rookie really hasn't got better things to do than cause problems for me. I didn't even have to ask what happened. The way he was smirking told me everything I needed to know.
"Hey," I said, stepping between him and Taylor, my voice low and steady. "What's going on here?"
He shrugged, trying to play it cool. "Nothing, man. Just a little misunderstanding."
Taylor grabbed my arm. "He was trying to take a picture up my dress."
Time slowed. My grip tightened around the beer bottle in my hand.
"Is that right?" I said, my tone dangerously calm.
He started to backpedal, holding up his hands. "Look, it's not a big deal. I didn't even get anything."
"You didn't get anything?" I repeated, taking a step closer. My vision tunneled. All I could think about was this guy disrespecting Taylor, making her feel exposed and vulnerable.
I didn't give him a chance to say anything else.
I shoved the beer bottle into a nearby friend's hand and grabbed Xavier by the collar, slamming him against the wall. The music drowned out most of the commotion, but a few heads turned as I got in his face.
"You think that's okay?" I growled.
"Man, let me go!" he sputtered, his bravado fading fast.
"Here's what's gonna happen," I said, my voice low but firm. "You're gonna delete every picture on your phone. Now."
"Fine! Fine!" he stammered, fumbling for his phone.
I let go just enough for him to pull it out. Taylor leaned over my shoulder, her arms crossed as she glared at him. "I want to see you delete them," she said sharply.
He fumbled through his gallery, showing us as he deleted the images. When he was done, I snatched the phone and dropped it into a nearby glass of water.
"What the hell, man?!" he yelled.
"That's for thinking you could get away with it," I said, stepping back.
Coach Reid stormed over to me.
"KELCE" he shouts at me and grabs me trying to pull me away.
Good luck old man. I'm not leaving Taylor alone with that yerk.
He rolls his eyes and shouts at me.
"What was that?"
"You know Worthy. The kid you decided to make me babysit is an absolute asshole who takes pictures up people's skirts so go ahead and shout at me but I'm leaving and I'm not bringing him with me"
I hold Taylor's hand as I storm out of the bar.
