Hey, besties! 💕
First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎉 I can't believe we're kicking off 2025, and I'm beyond grateful to have you all with me <3 Also, really sorry for the delay in updates. The first month of this year has been exciting but also super exhausting because... drumroll... I'm now an intern at this big, cool place! Hehe. I genuinely thought I'd update these two chapters in the first week of January since I already had them written. But... I got lazy editing, and procrastinated way too much, and then my internship started, which made me crazy busy😭
I can't believe I'm saying this, but it's official—the story is DONE! Like, I'm sitting here kinda freaking out because it feels so surreal. I've been dying to hit that "Complete" button, and now I finally can. Lmao.
It's been a whole year since I started this, and honestly, I didn't know if I'd ever finish it. I mean, fun fact: I tried writing two other stories before this, but they just didn't vibe. Either they got too cringe, or I couldn't figure out how to make the characters feel real.
But this one? It stuck. And I'm so, SO proud to finally say, "We made it!"
Now, I know some of y'all were really hoping for Daphne and Zephyr to end up together. And honestly? It's not because I picked Daphne and Cyrus for the sake of the majority—definitely not. But hear me out for a sec: Zephyr? He was a walking red flag. Yeah, he cared about her, was honest, and loved her—but he also kept hurting her. Over and over again. He'd apologize, then turn around and do it all over again. And we all know that's not love. That's just a toxic cycle. Daphne needed to break free from that, to find someone who would let her heal and wouldn't control, unlike Zephyr.
Cyrus gave her space to breathe, to figure things out, to just be herself. And for her, that felt like the right choice. It was about her journey, her growth, and finding peace—something Zephyr couldn't give her.
This book wasn't just about romance. It was about hope, healing, and finding strength even when everything felt broken.
It was about the decision which we make in life, just a small word like 'yes' made her in this trouble. Life can be messy, unfair, and straight-up hard, and she deserves a fresh start.
I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts on the ending, the characters, and the journey we've been on together. Reviews mean everything to me—not just because they help other readers find the book, but because your feedback helps me grow. So don't be shy! Let me know what you loved, what made you scream, and what you think I can do better in the future.
I have to say, I love writing characters who are betrayed, whose lives are a hot mess or about to get even messier—but then, somehow, they find a way to pull everything back together. There's something so raw and real about that journey, watching them struggle, make mistakes, and still manage to rise above it all. It's messy, but it's also beautiful because it shows that no matter how lost we feel, there's always a way to get back on track.
And if you enjoy such content hit that follow ✨
Now, it's time to cook up my next story—let's hope my brain shows up😅
Until the next story,
Ashlyn Kingston 💖
