Queen of the elements (Book 4 of The Fire Within)

Part 91: Notebook

(Five decended the stairs to the subway station with Y/n close behind him. It didn't take long for her to catch up, it never did.  Five used his flashlight to look around while Y/n lit a small flame in her hand. He went to one side and Y/n went to the other. Five looked up and saw a wire that hung low enough for him to reach it. Grabbing it, he pulled hard causing the wire to fall but spark which made him drop his flashlight which landed on the track.)

Five: Shit!

Y/n: Are you okay? 

Five: I'm fine, just dropped my flashlight. 

Y/n: Need any help?

Five: No, I got it. 

(He jumped down on the track but before he could grab his flashlight, he noticed something odd.)

Five: What the hell?

(Five grabbed his flashlight and pointed it at the wall of the track where he found a notebook resting on top of one of the emergency shut off boxes. He started to flip through it and realized something off.)

Five: (whispers.) This is my handwriting. 

(As he starts to examine it he realizes what it is.)

Five: Holy Shit. This is... this is it. This is our way home.

(He was about to call out to Y/n and tell her what he found but he stopped himself. These last few weeks have been everything he's ever wanted. Y/n was safe and happy, and they could be together here. If they go back home, who knows what will happen. He could loose Y/n again. He couldn't risk that. he wouldn't risk that. So against his better judgement he stuffed the notebook to the bottom of his bag.)

Y/n: Love, Are you alright? 

(Five lifted his head up and pulled himself back onto the platform.)

Five: I'm alright. 

Y/n: Did you find anything?

Five: No, nothing. Did you?

Y/n: Not really. We might need to go deeper into the station. I think we already got everything around the front. 

Five: Good idea.
