*With Reginald*
(He had finally accepted his fate, and sat back on a bench as the monster rampaged on and everyone else ran.)
Reginald: Why did I wait to take the shot?
(Gene sat down next to him.)
Gene: Because maybe you are a good man, after all.
Reginald: You pathetic, self-deluted zealot. Do you have any idea what you've done?
Gene: Yeah. I ended the world.
(Reginald scoffs as people continue to shoot at the monster with no effect. Gene takes off his glasses and puts a hand on Reginalds.)
Gene: And that's a good thing, my love.
Reginald: Who are you?
(Gene reaches for his face, and tears away the mask revealing Abigail underneath.)
Reginald: Abigail. You did this?
Abigail: You left me no choice.
Reginald: But why? We were happy here. We had our daughter back. She was safe and who she was supposed to be. Why would you through that away?
Abigail: Dying was my penance for creating something so deadly. This... cleanse. Wasn't it enough to see our world destroyed? To have our daughter ripped from us? They would you loose it on this one?
Reginald: Because I was so lonely without you.
Abigail: I didn't ask to be brought back to life.
Reginald: That was an act of love.
Abigail: No Reginald, it was hubris. What about our daughter? You had the chance to be there for her. To be her father. To support her and raise her the way we wanted to.
Reginald: She needed her mother. I was trying to get that back for her.
Abigail: And in doing so, you took away the only parent she had left and she grew to resent you for it.
Reginald: She didn't even know I was her father.
Abigail: And who's fault was that? You had many opportunities to tell her the truth, to be their for her as he father but you were to inveloped by your work that you never were.
Reginald: I failed her.
Abigail: That you did. Your actions had consequences far greater than anything could imagine and it was my duty to set it right.
Reginald: It was you who thwarted all my plans to keep Ben and Jennifer apart?
(Abigail sighs.)
Reginald: But what of Y/n?
Abigail: Our daughter is grown. She will make her choice to stay or return to her kingdom. Throughout her life, you have made so many decisions for her but this one is hers and hers alone, but I believe we both know what she will choose.
Reginald: And we won't be able to persuade her otherwise.
Abigail: No, her life is her own now, we can not make that decision for her, she must follow her heart.
(A moment of silence came between the couple.)
Reginald: I was wrong. And you made it right. Well done, my love. Well done.
(Both Abigial and Reginald looked foward at the creature as it came towards them and shrieked as it opened it's mouth and swallowed them whole. The last thought on their minds was each other and the daughter. One regretting never getting to raise her, the other regretting never being her father despite being given the chance, but I'd didn't matter anymore, you can't change history.)
