Part 100: Let's do it

Five: No, you know what? Let's do it right now. 

Y/n: Five, what are you doing? 

Five: We all struck out. There's nothing better to do.

Lila: Five, it's gonna be okay.

Five: (shouts) It's not gonna be okay. 

Diego: Oh, don't talk to my wife like that, man. 

(Diego stands up.) 

Diego: Not around here. Not during Christmas.

(Five scoffs.)

Five: You gonna do something about it, fuckface?

Y/n: FIVE!

Allison: Whoa, language!

Diego: Yeah. I'm going to k-i-c-k your a-s-s, my boy. 

Five: Mmm. Looks like somebody passed the first grade. 

(Lila grabs Diego's shoulder and Y/n gets between them to stop the fighting, putting one hand on Diego's and the other on Five, pushing them apart.)

Y/n: Alright, that's enough!

Lila: Yeah, both of you need to stop, okay? 

(Lila and Diego starts talking and Y/n pulls Five into a seperate room and closes the door.)

Y/n: What is up with you? You've been acting off since we got back.

Five: Why did we have to come back? We had everything we needed there. We were safe.

Y/n: Our family wasn't. If it was just the two of us then, yeah, maybe I would have considered it, but Lila was with us too. Her kids are here, her life is here. Our lives are here. 

Five: Coming back here means putting your life on the line again. I already know what's it's like to live 6 years without you, I don't want to do that, ever again. 

(Y/n was silent for a minute before speaking again.)

Y/n: I don't know what to say to make this better. I made choices that were hard to make and I don't know if I could make them again if I had to. I stayed away longer than I had to and I know it hurt and I'm truly sorry for that, but we can't live our lives so afraid of loosing something that we give up everything else. I stopped being afraid of death a long time ago, because I realized if I was afraid of death, I would focused to much on mere survival and forget to live. We've been together for a long time. Since we were 13, before the apocalyspe, before the commission. We've always been together, but we were on the run. Can't we just enjoy what we have while we have it? 

(Five's eyes soften.)

Five: Yeah. Yeah we can.

(Five hugs Y/n, and kisses her. Y/n rests her head on Five's shoulder as a comfortable silence surrounds them until Y/n breaks it a minute later.)

Y/n: And apologize to Diego.

Five: Do I have to?

Y/n: Yes.

Five: (huffs.)... fine.
