Madhav Oberoi was among Delhi's most formidable businessmen. The Oberoi Group, founded by his grandfather, was one of India's largest business empires, having construction business, educational institutions, and textile factories, along with several other companies under its vast umbrella.
On the other hand, Arnav Singh Raizada wasn't a stranger to Madhav, not in name, at least. Their paths had crossed at business conferences and exclusive parties, but beyond formal pleasantries, their interactions were through their business competition being in the same industry. That was, until recently. Because something was about to happen which would be a start of their enmity which would go on for years. A rivalry which didn't change even when their children, Priyanka and Kavish, who grew up to be famous cricket players, formed an unlikely friendship. And certainly not when Madhav's son Parth and Arnav's princess, Arohi, had a tumultuous, on-again-off-again relationship. In fact, one of the many reasons Parth and Aru kept breaking up (yes, plural, they had multiple breakups!) was because of the same Madhav-Arnav rivalry that began here...
It so happened that, Madhav had recently been looking for sites to build his ambitious shopping mall project. The mall was going to be one of a kind, space-themed, the grandest and most glamorous in Asia, if not the entire Asia Pacific region! He had already hired a team based out of Singapore to study suitable locations across Delhi and give him their report.
And in one of those games of destiny, one of the locations that the team had unknowingly included was Shantivan, the residence of the Raizadas. Yup, ASR's house. Right in the heart of Delhi's most elite areas. Since the team was not from India, they didn't really know "who" owned the property. Or perhaps, they were aware that it belonged to "another big businessman", but it wasn't unheard of that businessmen sell their properties at the right price, especially when it could lead to a promising business relationship.
Besides, the list included four or five other locations too.
But in another twist of destiny, when Madhav looked at the list and compared the pros and cons of each site, he ended up choosing Shantivan! Without even noticing who the current owner was.
The location was perfect for his vision of a dream mall, surrounded by Delhi's iconic towers and among the city's poshest neighborhoods. Sure, they would need additional land around that house but it was already up for sale. Only hindrance was that one large house!
With his mind set, he asked his PA to contact the owner and schedule an appointment!

That day, Arnav had woken up in a foul mood, and the day had only conspired to make it worse. It started with a small argument with Khushi over her overprotective nature about their kids. He had felt she babysits them too much, is overly involved and attentive in their children's life (or perhaps it was his tiny-tiny jealousy seeing her pampering his kids more than him!). And when she retorted saying he should look into the mirror because what he talked about her, is in fact, how he is, and not just for Kavish and Aru-Pari but also for her (and their large family)! He was left without a good comeback. In fact, their pet dog Teddy too woofed in agreement with Khushi. Traitor!
